How do I use my ps4 controller?

I recently bought skullgirls but playing with the keyboard is to quirky for me so I got my ps4 controller and hooked it up. I launched the game in bigscreen mode and it wouldn't work. So then I went to setting to abilitate the controller in choose your controls but i can't It only moves the keyboard to the player 1 slot. Is there a way to move the controller instead?

Try going to Steam > Settings > Controller > General Controller settings. See if it identifies your controller there, then accordingly set it up. If not, be sure that the USB cord isn't faulty, and that the USB port on both the controller and your computer are working properly.

Steam can detected I was playing wonder boy with it I think the problem is the game, but I’ll try using the cable

I use a program called Input Mapper to trick my PC into thinking that my PS4 controller is an Xbox 360 controller. It allows it to work in many games that might not even support it

I used to use a ps4 controller using a program like that, but I tried without it and it works as long as you set it up through big picture.
