hes not a girl
but beowulf is pretty beginner friendly, fukua is the reigning champion of beginner characterd though, very easy to pick up and play
...You're not gonna take that answer, are you? Okay, fine, here's an overview of some of the characters I think are on the easier side, relatively speaking:
Fukua - A lot of people say she's the easiest character to learn with pretty simple combos and a well rounded toolkit. She's getting a little more complicated in the upcoming patch with the ability to hold shadows to create delayed setups, but at a beginner level I don't think you'll need to worry about this too much.
Filia - The Ryu parody, if you know how to play shotos she might feel a bit familiar, though her playstyle is a tad different from your average shoto. You'll have to learn to do airdash stuff and go fast like Sanic, but other than that she doesn't have anything too fancy.
Cerebella - A very flexible character who can do a little of everything. Some newbies might have trouble with 360s, and mastering her requires you to get used to runstop, but besides that she's fairly straightforward.
Double - Mostly simple character with some trickier reset options and unusual supers. Sharpen your reactions to hitconfirm your Bombers and Slides, be ready to Puddle if they get blocked.
Valentine - Vials may look complicated at first, but they're actually pretty simple to use, You just have to learn to take advantage of her excellent mobility to run circles around your opponent, and be careful under pressure since your only real reversals cost meter. Don't play solo.
Parasoul - Some people find charge characters come naturally to them, others might struggle with her. Try her and see if she's a good fit for you. At a high level she gets rather complicated with tear setups, but you don't have to know much of this to play her at a beginner level. (TBH, I still haven't dived too deep into the fancy stuff myself)
Stay away from Squigly, Fortune, Painwheel, Eliza, and Beo. Beo's going to be especially hard in the upcoming patch. Some people might recommend Band because at a bare "monkey hitting buttons" level he can do a lot of damage in few hits, but despite having simple execution I think his playstyle is a lot harder - the big guy is a big target for the rest of the cast to bully and requires extremely careful play to survive.
However, I want to reiterate what I said above: if you really want to learn someone, go for it. If Painwheel's your waifu (but she's 16 you sicko) and you're truly determined to figure out all her complicated flight stuff, if you like Band's damage and you're motivated to master the neutral game, if you think Beowulf's penguin finisher is the most stylish thing ever and want to kill everyone with it, just put the time and practice in and you can do anything you set your mind to.
i hope this was unintended tbh
i understand
