The main issue with suiting is that it's a 0 risk tactic. You risk and lose nothing, and the vanilla weapons can't hit the suits unless it gets very very close. Rather frustrating to watch your turrets spew thousands of bullets into space without even being close to hitting the suit.
It's extra anoying if the suiter is spewing bullets back at your ship, because you can't really kill a suit with a ship if the suit does not want to.
And now we're prob going to be getting the near impossible to kill suits to not only spew endless streams of bullets at us, but also rockets? Great... It's sad when the peak of combat is a survival kit. Possibly accompanied by a cargo container with some tools & ammo.
Dude, it's fun to design and build (aka Engineer) warships to fight each other. Every ship that enters into combat is engineered by US, the players; whether that be from the workshop or personal designs. We get to build everything from the very first block.
And it's fun to pit those designs against other players to see who the better engineer is. Who did weapon placement, power management, armor placement, and propulsion better?
I'm not sure how "game has big boom guns" translates to "garbage-tier FPS" when there is so much more in-between
and for those whining about engineer hand weapons...... the community as a whole as bothered keen for the past year or so that combat is dull and shallow, if ur getting raided by suits congrats ur not using interior turrets well enough cause they track engineers a lot better than a gat does. Gatling turrets are the go to meta right now for smaller large grid ships, rocket turrets are absolutely pointless in mp right now cause of their horrid tracking ability and no one really uses super big ships. we need more variety and we deff needed more options for hand weapons.
The community has been steadily dying off cause not everyone is a super nerd rocket genius and the game has little to offer outside of creative mode cause its really not hard at all to survive in survival mode.
It's time to show those interior turrets the power of explosives
