question about safe zones
So I'm playing in my single player and I'm inside my safe zone after just capturing a ship that I will be repairing and using. Problem for me is the extreme blurriness of being inside the safe zone. It gives kind of a distortion. I am already prone to motion sickness and this doesn't help much. Does anyone know how to fix it? (if it can even be fixed)

if you play single player there is no need for safe zones all they do is cost power
as the funktion is ment for multiplayer to do trade and proteckt your base from grief

Hi, better have a "Building station / Garage" outside of the Safe Zone to avoid the problem where floating blocks and items are pushed out the SZ automatically.

If you really need a Safe Zone because you play with a lot of enemy Mods
=
I recommend to build undeground and use a Tiny Safe Zone to block the access only.

@Mikkel I have a LOT of enemy NPC mods adding to the threat level of the universe. In addition to that, I tend to let it run while I sleep because I like to let my batteries recharge and everything and I like to know my stuff is safe. I appreciate your comment but unfortunately even though I play SP it is very much still a major threat.

@Dan2D3D I'll take your comment as there's no way to do it and just accept the fact and deal with it. Unfortunately, having a build / repair spot outside the safe zone is not a viable option at this time but perhaps when I'm a little more established in my universe. Thank you for your time.

Build indestructible turrets around your underground station where the access is blocked by a flat Safe Zone that will protect what is under it :)

How does one build an indestructible turret?

Build a small tower with turret on top and a tiny safe zone to protect it.

When a grid touches the safe zone, the entire grid becomes indestructible, even the parts of it outside the safe zone. You can make the safe zone exceedingly small (saves energy) and use the station grid itself as the protective shield. Makes more sense that way, I think.

If you have the Economy DLC, you can choose a different appearance for the safe zone. Some have less animated distortion. 'Restricted' seems to have the least animated distortion over all.

It may also be possible to make a mod that takes away the distortion of the default safe zone skin.

I've not used a safe zone in ages, but I just did some testing and the distortion effect you show/describe does not happen for me at all, I suggest you experiment with the safe zone area graphical indication and possibly your game graphics settings, it should be possible to remove or minimise the problem this way.

It's not so bad, well it adds a line around my ship when the Safe Zone is in the back :

Workaround would be to build a "Garage" where the walls will remove this "problem", well a good solution if it affects you a lot.

Info +

Adout indestructible "defence tower", you could add Decoys around those to lure enemy ships to go right next to your indestructible turret and get destroyed, you just have to loot the debris :)

I have all sorts of indestructible "defence tower" :

Yeah, that's the exact effect I'm talking about. Really difficult for someone who suffers from motion sickness like I do. And I wish I could design and build like you do. Those towers look beautiful.

I recommend to go underground then (suggestion in post #2), well would be better if you have motion sickness.

So place the SZ above you / underground station, a bit like an umbrella.
