D-sub out of range

i love this game and have played it for a while (but recently i stoped playing) and when i try to play it today after about 2-3 mounth all i get is a error message on screen that says
"D-sub
out of range
99.3khz / 60 hz"
now i know what this means my monitor / cable is not good enough but is tere a way to change the hz used in game ,i have looked in game files to no sucses, but i need to be able to do it out of the game.

I'm having the same problem :( I wish I knew how to fix it but I really don't so any answers would benefit me as well. Hope we find a solution and I'll get back to you if I find something.

i know how to fix it (with high cost). you need to buy a vga cable and if your monitor does not take vga ,like mine, you have to buy a whole new monitor. but i am still hoping that someone now how to change the mhz from the game file.

I think I might try and get my brother to have a look at it. He's really good with computer stuff and might know a way around buying stuff. I'll take note on what he's doing while trying to fix it and I'll get back to you if it works.

I found out that the D-sub out of range message displays when the particular programme being used has got resoloution settings that are not compatible with the monitor's. I know I havn't changed my res settings at all so I don't know how it happend so I tried re-intsalling the game so maybe the res options would reset to defualt in which I could use but it didn't work. (so I probably just lost all of my saves for nothing) From what I can see now the only soloutions are what you said with the VGA cable, or if you have any other computers in your household you can plug in that computer's monitor into your computer in order to set the res to something that your own monitor can use and then switch back.

For me, I can use my brother's monitor to do this. I hope you have someone with a different monitor to try this with, if not then all I can do is apoligise and wish you the best of luck in recovering your game.

i recon i could get a monitor for free from my dad ,he works with tec and often has a lot of spar stuff such as monitors, but if not my brother also has a onitor that works with it.
