"Application error occurred" - "External component has thrown an exception"
So I bought Space engineers yesterday, but when I tried to start it, it gave me an "Application error occurred" message, and directed me to the log file. I've posted the log file below:

This is odd... You are running windows 7 but it should not have this issue... But I do know how to fix it.

Go into you game files in "Program Files/Steam/SteamAppa/Common/SpaceEngineers/Content" and delete the Checksum.xml file.

I ran into this issue with WINE and windows XP as they do not support SHA-2 checksums, but windows 7 should handle them no problem.

Thanks, it's working now. Any idea why it did that?

I know why it happens under XP and WINE, no idea why it happened under windows 7, it should fully support SHA-2

Ok. It's starting now, but it keeps locking up, and I have to open the task manager to shut it down. No error message. Could this be related, or is it most likey a differant problem?

Further note: I was just looking around, and it seems that SE has issues with AMD graphics cards (I have the AMD Radeon HD 6520G, dedicated 512 mb memory)

I've updated my display driver things, I'll see if it helps.

Nope, still crashing.

The crashing while in game is a separate issue from the checksum.xml file, I am not too familiar with the issues surrounding SE and AMD, I mainly work with SE under linux fixing bugs that appear under WINE.

Got it. As it turns out, the crashing seemed to be from a corrupted map. It's working fine now. Thanks.
