Air Vent Issues
Hello!

This is for people with a Air Vent only displaying 1 out of 4 of the green lights

First you must have:

A sealed room/hall/ship. (Done)

I've been having problems with building my base and being able to get the oxygen systems working.
I've read up on a few forums and looked up tutorials and no one that i've seen or read has come up against my problem. I've managed to fix it and i just wanted to share my findings.

I have a Win10 64bit AMD system running DX11(fix works also on DX9)

I found my problem when i place my last block (The Vent) in a standard 3x3x3 Room with 1 door. I had placed the Vent upside down and the room had pressurized i removed the vent and placed it the right way up and i got 1 green bar (Yay me)...
But it stayed there at 1 bar with no oxygen, but had a sealed room, no holes, openings or leaks. I had it working and simply took it off and flipped it the right way up and it stopped working? I tried putting it back the way it was but it didn't work same result 1 green bar no oxygen, even rearranging the Whole thing and it didn't work.

If you take off the Air Vent (while pressurized) and put it back it won't work, you need to go into the Vent control panel Depressurize it (even though there nothing to depressurize) and the switch it back. Tada!

(No really this took me two days of forum crawling i don't know if it's a bug or if i don't grasp the mechanics of it yet. All i can think it's doing is when the vent is removed and placed again it can't find the generator or oxygen tank until you put the request to depressurize and then it finds the route.)

Hope this helps anyone with the same issue!

Hello,

I just tried to reproduce this on our internal version of the game and I couldn't do it. Is your vent only partially pressurizing the room (lights are working) or is the room getting pressurized and the lights are broken? I'm asking because we recently fixed a bug with status lights. I'm not sure if that's released yet.

Also if the room isn't pressurizing fully, have you checked that you have enough ice? Sorry I had to ask.

If everything seems ok and the room just won't pressurize, could you publish the world on the workshop and paste a link here so that we can have a look at it?

For my very first post on anything on any forum i didn't expect a reply so quickly!

  • Yes and no, the lights display correctly (green) but the room has no pressure at all.
  • There are two 100% filled oxygen bottles and 1.56kg of ice.

Please note this happened in normal Survival, it takes too long to remake those conditions and it seems to do the same thing in Creative (fixed in both Creative and Survival).

Also this automatically gets fixed when loading the world, but can be broken by removing the vent and putting it back. Again solvable by using the fix.

Since one of the latest updates I encountered a misbehavior of the air vent indications lights in general.
No matter if the room is airtight or not, or the vent is installed in open space and not even connected to power or conveyor systems, there are no more yellow light indications, only one steady green light all the time. So the only way for me to find out if a room is airtight or not is installing the vent and wait a few seconds to see if the room pressurizes or not.
I tried the "fix" though but I it didn't work for me so far.

It didn't work for me because I didn't know you had to manually turn air-tightness on in the world settings.

PS: you can turn it on in a already started game by editing settings when you select which save to load.
