Event Controller Constant Triggering

I thought the event controller was supposed to trigger just once per event. But that's not what I'm seeing on my build. I have an event controller set to activate a timer block when a piston reaches 100% extension. Instead of just triggering once, it keeps starting the timer block over and over again, leading to some interesting shenanigans. I tried backing the triggering event off to 90% just to see if that changed anything and it didn't. I have the exact same problem when i set the event up to happen at 0% extension. I'm also having a similar problem with advanced rotors (when the rotor reaches a certain angle).
No mods installed. Playing survival mode, single player.
Anyone have any suggestions or seeing something similar?

Hi, I don't have much experience with the Event Controller block because not needed on my creations so far but I've used it to make a rotor loop left-right non stop on my automatic Gas Station that worked on the first try using 2 EC block :

+ Veteran Advice

Do not keep the "Not working setups" you find, Redo different till solution found is the way.

It's kind of easy in this game because we just have to Redo different if not working and I can tell there is always a better solution to find.

Keep in mind, the best setups uses less blocks and less actions as possible.
