Dedicated Server Player De-Sync Issues
Hello, I run a dedicated server off of my computer for me and my friends to play on. However, there is a constant problem of players desyncing i.e. being in seperate "instances". For example, after a while one of us will realize we're not synced because I asked someone to come fly over to my base, and he said he was there but I still saw his ship beacon from over at his base, neither he or his ship had moved. It's like after awhile you lose sync with the server and it's as if you're playing singleplayer.

This problem persist across all multiplayer methods, not just dedicated servers.

There's no way to fix it or prevent it? I actually never encountered this when just hosting a game, but I possibly just never noticed it until I was using the dedicated server.

It seems to have just appeared, I didnt have this problem a week or two ago, but now it persist. I did some digging and found no solutions currently, best we can do is bump this every once in a while and hope the developers see it.

Yeah, if this isn't fixed in the next patch I'm going to post it on the official forums and see what good that does. Hopefully the developers are working on it.

I'm bumping this just because I want to know exactly how widespread this issue is.

I can verify i experience desync, extreme load times up to not being able to finish download of a 5 mb world.. Using Easy Start 1 scenario, with 16 big asteroids. Other odd thing, i cant salvage the spawned in ships with grinders, not ship grinders, nor the hand grinder.

I'm pretty sure the desync issues actually predate this patch, but something in this patch made it about 20x more prevalent. I've ran into it before 1.039 but not nearly in the amount and severity I have lately. Additionally, I'm crashing a lot when trying to browse servers or join a world this update. 1.039 was not very multiplayer friendly.

This is seriously obnoxious. At this point cargo ships in MP is uselessly broken, and when I play MP with friends we always go grab cargo ships for starting resources and retrofitting (private sails can make great grinding ships), but now we cant do anything with them.

Yeah, I think it might be tied in with cargo ships somehow or how far away you are. Those are my only guestimates, but even then it could be something completely different.

I cant do anything to any of the "randomly spawning ships" that includes trying to salvage, capture, or even ram / shoot at them!

Towing is also affected.

There is the desync issue i've noticed on mp, its a uk server, im from Denmark, a friend is from Eastern USA, when he sees a landing gear clamp on and turn green it takes 10-15 seconds before i see the action!

Then there is the somewhat randomly server exiting, though its actually running, and one can see it on the list.

There is the steam group id whielist bug, that results in one have to be an admin on the server to be able to join it.

Not sure if this is intended. If i fx, turn of reactors, and leave the solar's running and a medbay + one antenna, when the server restarts it turns on everything on the base O.o

Having the same issues, hopefully they get resolved soon, salvaging ships is not nice with this bug. I remember reading somewhere that people said you had to create a fresh new server to solve the problem. I did, it did not solve the problem.
