VmWare SVGA 3D not supported

Hi,

since the DX9 support was dropped, I can't play anymore on Linux or windows 10 under VmWare (linux host)...
this is a very annoying issue since now in VmWare it only propose the Microsoft Basic Render Driver which is absolutly not usable for games.

I have tried to change manually the configuration file to use it, but without success, I always got a message saying that Graphical card is not supported.

this is a shame since I run other game like PlanetSide 2 with FPS always above 30 even with a lot of player in one place.


Is there any chance that the VmWare SVGA 3D driver will be in the compatible liste again ?
Is there a way to force usage of this driver ?

I don't believe so. But there is a DX9 version of the game. It does not contain planets and will not be further updated, but it will probably still run for you.

You can togle dx9 on in SE steam preferences, its on the last page.

I already know for the DX9 version, but I am not interrested since it still contains so much bug making the game quickly unplayable...
