ctrl + number

Hi everyone!

I thought my problem would be fixed with the last update, but it's not...

When I try ctrl + number to change toolbar, the game freezes and the only way to do anything is to kill the game through the task manager.

Am I the only one to have this issue?

Is there any workaround, what can I do?

Hi, I don't know why but I can tell you that the Ctrl+Num works fine

Share more clues and I will see what I can do.

Computer specs or the game LOG file.

You could try by unistalling the game, when done > delete all remaining SE files and folder in the appdata and in the Steam folder.


Before deleting all SE files >> Keep your saves and Blueprint folders in the appdata if you don't want to lose any.

What do you mean by "other games" ? I you mean other SE games, I tried in creative mode, in other scenarios and it is the same.
I'll try to uninstall all and reinstall and come then to feedback.

Any other game will do > just load one to play and hit Ctrl+Num, just to be sure it's not a keyboard problem.

Ok >Try by doing a fresh installation of the game, deleting all SE files and reinstalling should fix if it's a game problem.

I deleted all and the game's downloading (2,5 hours at the moment).
I come back when done and retried...

Now, the game is reinstalled. The problem is still present.
One precision I omitted: it sounds like the problem is only graphic, because when I press the forward key (Z for me), I can hear my character walk... but I don't know if this makes sense.
Sorry, it was a blank operation!

EDIT : my graphic driver is up-to-date!

Well... I just make a mistake pressing keys and I suddenly noticed I had changed the tool bar...!!
In fact, the problem is a bit more limited than I thought: I can change to 6, 7, 8, 9, but 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 freeze the game !

EDIT: sorry, another precision: . and , let me change tool bars from 1 to 9 and back without problem. I really don't know what is the reason why crtl doesn't function with 1 to 5.

Have you modified the control keys in game options?

I'm not sure if we can set the game to AZERTY > I play on QWERTY keyboard, maybe it's the problem

I will comeback if I find a solution and maybe you should try to set your keyboard to QWERTY to see if it works.

Hey, I think I understand, now you're speaking about qwerty, I wanted to try to configure qwerty keyboard when I suddenly remember that I configured windows to be able to change my keyboard to 5 other languages... and by default, the hotkeys are ctrl + number...
So I deactivated the key combinations for foreing keyboards and it now functions normally !!!

Sorry for making you loose time with this stupid problem!
