Can we create piston engines like in Scrap Mechanic?
Hi,

is it possible to create something like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fWEKiqH5_tM
or

Hi, yes but it needs a lot of XP, well it needs good Engineer testing to find the working solutions in this game and A lot can be done.

I can tell it is a hard SE challenge to build a working stable car for race track scenario worlds.

theoretically, but Clang will strike you down for your arrogance if you try.

no seriously, I mean any moving parts are super buggy and your build WILL randomly explode because of it if you have the number of them required for what you're asking.

Something like that would have to be anchored down.. But then it wouldn't be a vehicle.

If you build a piston rotor engine type dealio, Clang WILL get you.

I would say no. No you cannot build that in SE.

Change my mind. :)

I could, but it wouldn't be very useful. You will need a fairly heavy build to help counter the movements of the engine, but that weight will make the vehicle too heavy to properly move uphill (considering that your trying to make something small). It would be a lot more useful to just stick with using the hydrogen engine if you want something that looks like proper engine.

i know, but I just love how it looks and I also like complex build. Can you try and create one?

there are complex builds in the game, but land-based movement has enough jank as-is. The most complex thing I've seen on the ground is a very slow walker. Everything fancy stays in space where weight isn't really an issue and there's no uncooperative terrain to worry about.
