Space Engineers rising to the top 5 in steam charts....
....could be the reports we see this christmas, it's moving from sandbox into survival RPG category now, and it's looking awesome, the official servers are constantly packed out, hard to get a game, i don't mind shelling out a little for the DLC because the progression toward the multiplayer experience is on par, i bought the one expansion for silver/ disco armour etc....but gonna have to buy the deluxe for the gold armour.....ouch, but these devs deserve the income so it's fairly priced, it's come a looong way

If they can pull off the combat update before christmas.. That might be a true statement.

Not much survival against anything...other than players. Would been nice if we got a PVE update. Actual npcs are still broken sadly. https://support.keenswh.com/spaceengineers/general/topic/fix-npcs-to-be-functional-again

To be fair the game does deserve it, in the time it has been in early access its progressed enormously and is still getting huge updates like the economy patch. To be fair, by the time SE has stopped receiving updates it will basically be a small scale MMORPG, is they add character skills it will have exceeded several popular space survival builder games in terms of features.

Err where on steamcharts is it top5? By what metric?

I just had a look and by players its not even top 50. Maybe im not using steamcharts right lol
