Lock option for unequal pressurized doors.
I suggest that a checkbox option be added to the Control Panel of doors that would lock a door if the pressure on either side was unequal in the extreme. In the extreme means 100% pressure on one side and 0% pressure on the other side.

This would protect the player from inadvertantly opening a door when you don't know the pressure state on the other side. I am thinking that the room on the other side might have been damaged and you wouldn't know that until you opened the door. If there was a lock that had to be manually disengaged then the player could take steps to prevent oxygen from being lost.

On the same token, an option on vents to automatically close on depressurization would also keep from venting all of the oxygen to space in the case of damage to the station.

Very useful and interesting concept.
Though it doesn't sound like it should be be to hard to write a script on a programmable block to do just that.

Yes, but that would streamline it and is realistic - some doors are deliberately designed to use the pressure differential to seal themselves better.

I also woulnd't mind the door control panel optionally functioning as a single button, which could be used for things other than door control.

Was just about to post the same suggestion before I found this thread.

Had a similar idea a while back for just a checkbox option, but didn't post it for some reason. The current bug with the doors starting open (version 1.105) has brought the desire for this option to the fore of my mind again.

I'd quite like to be able to secure my inner air lock doors, to stop them from being opened in the event that the outer door is not sealed.

well, to be honest I think this may cause a lot of background calculations that arent really needed. We have the parts and mechanics in game already to do this to an extent. thats the 'engineering' part of the game title :)

Unless I'm mistaken there are already scripts on the workshop for use with the programming block which will do that exact thing for you.

The script basically runs once a second off a timer block, and will lock down certain doors if it detects a depressurised environment.

All you'd need to do (besides looking up the script, which I can't remember the name of) is set it up on a programming block, with a timer, and make sure your air vents and doors are properly named. (I believe the script itself gives you fairly airtight directions to follow, if you pardon the pun.)

I can see one issue with this: Your outside of the station, your airlock is pressurized and the airlock 02 container is full. The outer door won't open because of the pressure difference, basically your locked out.

Which is why several players, myself included, think that we should either have a smaller O2 tank for use just with airlocks (fill it 3/4 full then shut it off. the extra space is for airlock atmosphere) or a way to stop O2 tanks from filling past about 80%
