Domes with glass?
I'm working on a space station with a center circle that's got a radius of 50, that's done. But the glass dome.... Is it doable? I'm only asking this because they are only panes not blocks, and without being able to tilt the angle of the sloped panes, I have no idea how I'd make a dome of glass. Anybody who has an idea on how to do it?

If its big enough, there should be enough pieces to make a fair approximation of a dome. I would start by trying to make a circle diameter 100. Just keep experimenting till it looks right.

Edit : Might be a little on the large side however.

Yeah I started with one double the size, after I got done with one corner I noticed I overlooked that an asteroid would cut right into it, so I had to make the platform half that size. I'm thinking of just making a half dome and squaring it at the top with glass. But I don't really understand how I could make any sort of slope with the glass panes currently in the game, I can make a SMALL SMALL SMALL dome out of the current ones, but anything bigger than that is beyond my understanding.

Google "Geodesic dome calculations" That should show you how to fit your shapes together to create a dome of whatever size you want.

My only gripe is with the 1x1 triangle window. It doesnt have an inverted version so some of your triangles are going to be backwards, with the tint on the wrong side. Bit of an eyesore but it does work.

Meh, I just gave up on it. Same thing with minecraft. Just got to a point where I don't even want to make anything because it's all square and I can't make what I dream up. I'll come back to the game when there's more to do, maybe more options for building. You'd think with how far game engines have progressed we wouldn't be limited to squares anymore. But then again, I know nothing of how they work.

Technically all game engines are limited to building things with triangles, not squares.

But if you really want to get away from block based building, you might give Planet Explorers a look.

A friend of mine really likes Planet explorers, so I'll have to give it a look.

planet explores still uses blocks, just very very very tiny ones lol, at least for the creation part, which I might add is agonizing to mess around with.

Well, Planet Explorers is aided by the fact that it has built-in cylinder and sphere makers, at least for items and vehicles.

That's pretty neat, currently the only way to make something even vaguely round/spherical in this is to make it with obscene proportions that arem't even feasable timewise for a single person/two people, let alone usable. I for one don't want to have to run for 5 minutes just to get to my storage room :P.

There's a minecraft-based image resource floating around that shows how to make perfect circles. Try googling for it.
I don't know about spheres but a sphere in a voxel game is just several layers of circles, if you think about it.

What you can also do is you can open a program like paint.net, activate the pixel grid and create a canvas of approximately 1.5 or 2 times the radius of the circle you want to create, then use the ellipse tool or whichever and go from there.

Whoops. I misunderstood.
Well, the above information will probably be helpful to someone so I'll leave it there.
