Then I realized they will never implement this, and it is up to the player to engineer around problems like this. Its the engineering part of Space Engineers.
I would like a "medium size cargo container / small grid"
with 3 large conveyor ports and 1 small conveyor.. and/or 3 small 1 large.
So you could actually use the medium cargo on two cockpit wide transporters,
without wasting two cargo container slots for 2x the small grid conveyor,
with 4 large conveyor ports but without cargo capacity.
I dont like having to shuffle sides because the larger parts cant be pushed/pulled into the other side. For Cockpits it doesnt matter if its only small parts/oxygen/hydrogen,
but for the medium cargo this means two slots wasted for "interconnect conveyors"
or two docking ports at the back
Or a "small grid large cargo container" that is 4x medium cargo large
but only 2x medium cargo deep, 2x medium cargo broad and 1x medium cargo high,
with 4 large conveyor slots and 4 small ports all on the same plane..
need to check workshop again for cargo mods..
