Ship moving on its own while landing gear is locked
I have a ship in a hangar with it's landing gear locked and reactor shut off. I don't exactly know when or how but sometimes it slides into the wall for some reason. I've never seen it with my own eyes. The landing gears are still locked and it keeps locked even if I start the ship and try to engage the thrusters in any direction.
There are no gravity generators or artifical masses even remotely close. (in fact the only gravity generator active is 2k meters away

(Hope that screenshot works)
I parked in the middle of the black area and yes the wall is knuckled.

Why is this happening? I can fix it by building a connector and stuff but I do wanna know why this happens in case it bugs something else up.

I just saw that if everytime I press "P" (locking/unlocking landing gears) the ship moves slightly forward. Does the game unlock and unlock quickly everytime the world loads? Seems weird
And why does the ship crawl forward everytime?
turn off dampeners before u land whit landing gear. and make sure u turn off the reactor from controll panel for the small ship.
should fix it

..tip : go close and then turn off damperners just before u turn on landing gear and lock them in, and make sure u havent landed all way down, have some air between :)

I am noticing weird things with landing gear locks also. Sometimes a locked ship will vibrate slightly, and if the dampeners are on the thrusters go crazy and burn through fuel trying to stabilize said vibration. The vibration scares me and makes me think it might build up force and eventually break the locks violently, maybe that's what's happening for you. This doesn't seem to happen if you only have a single landing gear locked, the bug appears to be in the balancing or whatnot between multiple locked landing gears.

Do you have any pistons/rotors on your ship?
My MK7 Mastadon uses Landing gear to lock down it's rotor doors. I have noticed that if I do not unlock the gear, the ship will roll when not under thrust.
Unlocking the gear seems to negate almost all of the roll.

@eXclusiVee that seems to produce the same results, if I understand them correctly
@Chucky No there are no rotors or pistons on the ship
@Astasia That sounds really scary

it would seem my other ships have the same tendencies. With what Astasia said about balancing multiple landing gears I checked into that a bit. It would seem that all landing gears doesn't lock at exactly the same time, a few milliseconds between (shifts a bit but not much). Maybe when one gear tries to lock itself into place and then another one do it right after the whole ship thinks it should align itself twice. Same thing when unlocking, making the ship crawl. Just a theory but sounds possible.
But even if this is true it doesnt explain why the ship moves while I've not been near it for hours. That makes me believe the game actually does a quick unlock/lock kinda thing when you load the world.

Okay update again.
It has nothing to do with load the game/world. This one ship still moves. My next thought is the autosaves but after that Im short of ideas

my ship likes to move when its unlocked{ engines and stuff on ]

and if i lock the landing gear then the ship starts spazzing out

some times in rips the landing gear of and my ship flys off
this is not on a bigger ship too, how do i stop this ?

I have issues with landing gear not sticking correctly, too. I've started placing connectors instead of landing pads wherever I want ships to sit still. I now dock to them instead of using landing gear.

Moving to bug reports

Happened to me once before...My large ship was anchored to asteriod with thrusters off and the landing gear was set to autolock. After I went in another small ship to a far away location and returned, the large ship was off 20m away from the asteriod, with the landing gear unlocked and still set to autolock. Didn't happen again and thought it was an issue with the modded landing gear I was using.
