Space Engineers is Auto Scrolling. Unplayable...
Ok, So I have been playing Space engineers a very long time. Not nessacarily hourwise, but update wise. This problem has only sprung up in the last two months or so, and I can not find any information on how to fix it. Essentially, when ever there is an option to scroll in the game, if I move my cursor into the selection box (like the inventory for example) the scroller goes FTL and warps to the bottom. I have to yank it up really fast to get it to budge, and most of the time it just cements itself there. No matter what I try, I can't get it to where I can get items, becuase it scrolls them out of view before I even have time to click. I have tried everything I can think of. I used a USB mouse, I disabled the track pad, I even reinstalled the game. I don't know what is doing this, and cannot even play until it is fixed. Please, help?

Are you still having this problem? I had this problem too, I'm on an Asus ROG G750jz when updating windows it switches over to the default windows touchpad driver and that is where I was getting these issues from. Manually installed drivers from the manufacturer and that solved the problem.

Yes. I'm actually runing an Asus of almost the same model so that may be it. I recently took it in fo some hardware repairs and actually need to update them anyway. Would you mind sending me a link?

I haven't played for a long time becuase of this issue though, and recently most of the internal parts were swapped out so I need to reinstall.

It's currently not doing it, but that doesn't suprise me. Typically it starts after I've been playing a while, on a co-op seesion with a freind of mine. Around 15- minutes or so. The aforementioned comment may indicate I now have the appropiate drivers mentined by cdhinsley. On the off chance I don't, next time it occurs I will certainly record it and post it here.

Oh do you think this. Auto scrolling never working on SE. In game working only mouse wheel with scrolling or left button and move with slider :)

No, when it happens, it isn't that I can't scroll. It scrolls automatically when my mouse enters any sort of box that has a scroll option. For instance, if open the inventory and try to grab a block or a tool, the game will very quickly scroll to the bottom of the inventory (where you can't see or grab any items) as soon as my mouse enters the the box. The good news though, is that judging from lack of info provided by other users (until the above user responded I could find no other user with my issue) I would imagine this is a very isolated glitch and affects very very few people. however it is indeed game breaking. When it scrolls down like that half time I can't even get it to scroll back up even a little bit, and the other half it will go go a short distance before bee-lining it to the bottom again. It's very peculiar. A freind wants to play Steam with me again today, so I'll see if he's up for some space engineers. if I run into the issue I'll record it. it's really something you more or less have to see for yourself to understand.

If it helps, I'm using a trackpad, (no mouse wheel) and in mouse settings I have the scroll function turned off. I did that when I got the computer becuase windows 8 has too many swipe commands to work effectivly. I disabled pretty much all of them for my mouse and rely on my touchscreen for the fancy things. Besides, it makes me look cooler with the touchscreen. XD
