Problem with projectors
Hi guys, I have this issue while building a ship in survival that I designed in creative.
I placed a merge block on a station and to that merge block I attached a simple big ship (landing gear with a few armor blocks, a projector and a merge block). then i projected the blueprint and activeted the option to show only the buildable blocks, but the only thing that option does is hidding the armor blocks, while all the conveyors, thrusters, reactors, etc are still there.
here is a screenshot of the problem:

I've only constructed the blocks in the right side of the picture. the thrusters, spotlights, conveyors, etc on the center/left side are not builded. (the projector is set to show only buildable blocks)

Any idea how to solve this? is very annoying as I can't be completly sure which blocks are already there and which ones are not.

Nope...the armor block that is buildable is there, but as a more solid color hologram.

Yes...the none buildable blocks look bugged and non hologram for them is shown.

+1 also getting this, same situation.

+1 I'm having the same issue. On top of that, chaining a replicating object ( such as a drill shaft) exaggerates this issue, and creates entirely new sets of weird bugs like:
1. Blinking of red/green indicators on batteries and projectors.
2. Most blocks appear as if built, not some.
3. Nearby drill/voxel interactions cease. Unless produced by different grid/explosions.

Had a problem like this, for me restarting the game or the map helped.

I think this is like, you already build the block but the game don't update the visual for you.

I used a building ship this time, don't know if you build it with your welding tool.

I'm having this also, when i was building a Scuttler, i noticed that those blocks didn't seem like they were projections, but they were.

+1, same problem here, I restarted the game but it remains. It's impossible to know what are the parts already built, or to use the "show only buildable blocks" option (which is a great one by the way).
If someone had any help...

Okay, did you tryed to turn it off and on again?
So the unfinished ship is still connected, if you turn it on again all the missing blocks should be project in the gaps.

Also I can realy recommend using a welding ship, because it will weld no matter what you see the ship complete. (If you need a little welding ship, I can load a little one in the workshop)

Try to leave the game between the steps of turing off the projector, to update blocks if nothing helps.

The problem part is " Show only buildable blocks ", that check box is broken.

Did you tried to let steam repair possible corrupted files?

Go to the libarey, rightclick space engineers, choose properties.
Go to locale files, click on search gamefile for errors/bugs/defects (whatever it's called in english)

Maybe you have to even reinstall the game.

@Linaret. yeah, I did turned it off and on with no succes, all the ship was still there, complete and incomplete/ghost blocks. I was using a welder ship btw, I crashed it a couple of times with the ship because i could not recognise real blocks with ghost blocks.
i'll try to check for corrupted files tomorrow,
ty for the advise

You're welcome, and good luck to fix it!

+1 I'm getting this error aswell. I have a bad workaround with a time block which toggles the projector on/off every few seconds. I would rather see the projector work properly though...

is anyone still experiencing this?

for me the only blocks which are projected correctly are armour blocks, other blocks such as batteries, refineries, conveyers, wheels etc are opaque in the projection
