Is anyone playing on Intel HD3000 GPU?
Hi, we need feedback from people who have Intel HD3000 GPU.
The GPU is officially not supported, however the game runs on this card.

Do you have any issues? Is game running smooth?
Any help is highly appreciated, thank you!

I have Intel HD integrated Graphics and the game is barely playable, I get a strange black box where transparencies should be for the activation boxes on objects as well as a box around the sun and the spotlights have a black plane that sticks out in-front of them. the thusters also have this black box in their lighting. Any chance of lowering the lighting level a bit? or maybe a low res texture mod or something?
Well that's unfortunate. My laptop runs with a hd 3000 :/ Not looking good for my laptop. >~< And I'm going to be away from my gaming tower for 3 months now! :'(
Bad frame-rate for me too.
HD Graphics 3000 29-1-2014 drivers, i5 2500K 3.30GHz, 16GB, 250GB SSD, win8.1 pro

1280 x 600 Render:Normal, just about playable.
640 x 400 Render:Normal, fluid play but doesn't look nice.

Bought a 4 pack naively hopeing I could run additional seats in VMware Player for our family gaming. We play Minecraft like this.

Update: Have ordered GTX 750TI 2GB GDDR5
Update: Working great, new graphics card solved.

I have an Intel HD 4000 card on my laptop. No it's not a 3000, but I just thought I'd mention the game runs and is playable, however there's input lag and some reduced framerate when a station I'm in reaches 250,000 polygons. Significant input lag and significantly reduced framerate occur when number of polys reaches higher than ~280,000.

I run everything on Normal settings (lowest graphics setting available). When I'm in "deep space" the framerate and input are awesome. When multiply asteroids are in view (16-asteroid option) the game lags. When one asteroid is up close/I'm in side it runs reasonably well. Not fastest but definitely playable.

I also use the HD 3000, and my it runs but is very slow, the rate rendering also very slow, I thought I'd make a request to the developers to see some solution, but I think they really can not do anything. The not be many people who have this problem.
I was very upset when I came across this situation, so much so that I'm already thinking of buying another machine ... :-(

I will probably do this as well at some point. I can barely play some games because of the lag even at lowest settings, so a new computer at some point is definitely in order. Probably a desktop that I can replace parts with.
i have lagg on platforms but as soon as im in vehical no lag

Yeah, but all this guy, I know it I find very strange, because I squeegee quiet several other more graphically heavy games, that hey, I was very disappointed when this is not rolled, but anyway, the way it is I upgrade also for a desktop ^^
if you are running intel hd300 graphics on a desktop dont bother getting a new machine because you already have a pretty decent processor (ivy bridge architecture) all you need is a good GPU. if you are on a budget look on ebay for second hand hd5800 (and up) or gtx560s (and up) you can often find a second hand for around £20 from people upgrading. those cards would offer a big improvement in your fps, over hd3k and free up CPU power to run the sim better (though there would be no garuntees they would last for more than a month).

if you are using a laptop to play SE dont expect 60 fps. honestly even with a high end laptaop with a dedicated graphics chip you are still looking at playing on mid to low end settings.

if you are currently using a laptop with HD3k graphics and you are thinking of upgrading to something better for games DO NOT GET A NEW LAPTOP. your current laptop is running a decent processor already and will be good for most tasks for a few years. if you get a desktop pound for pound you get about 30% more raw prrocessing power (both cpu and gpu) than an equivelent laptop. this actually translates to about 50% more performance pound for pound because desktops dont have the thermal throtling that laptops have. hell if you went all out and built one yourself you would be able to get a better return on investment.

Eventhough they tell you a laptop is good for gaming they are average at best. Most of the complaints on this and other forums about performance and FPS seem to be from laptop users.

It is I use Vaio Laptop, i3, memory 4g and my HD3000, I have many other good games q run smoothly, a good example is farcry3, Deadspace (entire franchise). But I'm still wondering if I buy a laptop with better processing or desktop ... between them, I prefer laptop, mobility ... but it's still a case to think about ...

Okay, so I had the chance to try it out on HD3000. Moderately low frame-rate, even on normal graphics intensity, and I think some slight delay in the control reaction, but otherwise everything else runs well.

Is it enjoyable? Well, I don't know how hard it would be to implement it at this stage, but the chance to tone down the graphics lower than normal might be helpful in making it feel much smoother to play. That being said, I honestly don't regret this purchase decision at all.

I purchased it, and you can't play the planets section, you're limited to a few parts of the game. Absolute waste of money if you ask me, you can run Eve Online full bore on an Intel HD 3000 without a problem. This should be no different. One other bad thing, it won't run DX11. Only DX9, even though DX won't install unless the card supports it...
