Quick start, grassland, NO FOOD AT ALL!!!

And wolves keep eating me. I've had to start over 3 times... because the wolves kill me near rover and when I respawn, they keep killing me, over and over, so have to start over.

If nothing else works, you could save the game, go into the load game screen, click on options (or advanced options, I can't remember off hand), then turn off wolves.

There is a pistol with ammo in the cockpit of the rover. While sitting in the cockpit press "I" or "K" to open the menu, and drag the pistol into your inventory.

Since the Apex Survival update, you should be able to resupply ammo from the Survival Kit by simply mining stone.

Other ammo requires magnesium or uranium, but the simple S-10 magazine should only need a little Iron and Nickel from Stone.

The first thing you want to do is mine stone, and put it into the Survival Kit. Set the Survival Kit to process the Stone into Ingots. Then you want to make some ammo, and some steel plate.

The possible gameplay options open up from there if "Progression" is disabled, otherwise you will need to start unlocking the Progression tree, which means building a Basic Assembler, Basic Refinery, and Landing Gear.

You will want your base powered by a Wind Turbine before you leave it, as it may despawn if you get too far away from an unpowered grid.

When laying the foundation of your base, make it fairly high, this way the wolves can't get to you.

If you're worried about getting onto your base with no jetpack juice use ladders rather than ramps.

This basic setup will allow you to kill the wolves at your leisure for their tasty meats.

Server, earthlike, no ground plants, think wolf count was increased, 20 wolves, hard to drive rover, shot wolves for meat, found a spot, grinded rover armor, wireframe enclosure, start building base, went after unknown signals to get seeds, tower for wind turbines (like CJM says) and solar and algea farm.

I don't make ladders though. Wolves can go up the 1x2 ramps (more flat) but not the 2x1 ramps (more vertical).

There's a good reason that Keen disabled progression on all their servers when they added the food system to the game, but sadly a lot of people setting up their own games and servers don't think to do this, because documentation and default options are still lacking sanity...

Hi, I recommend the following world advanced settings :

- Food on Slow mode
- Wolves and Spiders OFF
- Weather OFF
- Lightning damage OFF
- Radiation OFF

Enable those turned Off options that makes it harder one at a time once you have the needed to survive.

-> You will be able to start with all ON later as to make it a harder gameplay once having more experience.

Oh! Make sure the option named "Unknown signal" is enabled, because we can find food and seeds in those.

It's a good "workaround" when we have a hard time finding plants.

Wolves are a great food source. Grab the pistol and you'll have endless amounts of food.

If you're trying to "speed run" you can get an algae farm up and running in about 5 to 6 minutes. Then a drill on the front of your rover, and a medium cargo box in a few more minutes with doing any mining.

Personally, I don't sweat it that much and just go for a drill and cargo, then slap a quick base down to avoid starving. I also don't have wolves on though, I remember when they first came out and have always turned them off. Although it looks like they were improved, so I'll probably have them on in my next playthrough.

To the wolves add connection problems with server, no save at all - yes Iron Mode all the way and my favorite - "Server will restart in 1 min."
