Recharging Rover
How the heck to I recharge the battery in the Rover? I have watched a few youtube vids & they don't seem to cover the fact that the battery has a life of so many hours. Then what, how do I recharge it? Cheers sorry if it sounds a bit dumb. But am definitely stumped.

Just dock it and it will recharge. You can force recharge mode in battery settings.
If it doesn't recharge at your docking station in auto mode, chances are you lack power.
what setting is the battery set to? Is it set to Auto, Discharge or Recharge?

Batteries set to discharge will never recharge, the reverse with recharge.
Lazy way is just docking it to grid with excess power.

Less lazy wat is doing the same, but putting event controller set to set battery on "recharge" when docked and "auto" when not docked.
If you're in the early game: slap a solar panel on it and park it!

If you're not: build a connector on it, and a connector on another grid (large or small.) that has excess power production, connect them together and let the batteries recharge.

If you can't do that, but do have resources like ice and iron: you can slap an h202 converter and a hydrogen engine on the grid and it'll generate some power. Depending on how many batteries you have, it'll charge pretty well. I think the hydrogen engine is the most efficient power producer per fuel unit... but don't quote me on that.

Ive actually properly read your post now lel.
Your battery either needs to be on the same grid as a block thats producing power to recharge or dock itself to another grid that has power somewhere. Wind turbines, Solar panels, O2/H2 generators and Nuclear Reactors all produce power. which can then be stored in batteries as excess energy with a minor conversion loss.
If you are on a planet with an atmosphere, build a short tower (like 6 blocks) of light armor blocks (you don't have to finish them, just spawn them). On top of that put a wind turbine. Place a connector on the back of your rover and a connector of the same diameter on the tower at the same height as your rover's connector sits. SLOWLY back into it. The light on the connectors will shine yellow when the connection is lined up. Then go into the connector's menu and press LOCK.

There are more advanced ways of doing this that you should learn. But that's the basics.

As stated above, you can also put a solar panel on the rover itself.
Thanks for all your hints & advice. Ronin Planetary Industries, thanks it works a treat. Simple but affective.
A docked ship will share power grids. If the other grid has an energy surplus or deficit, it will use the docked battery.
Consider replacing the rover's roof rack with a solar panel. It should be possible with shredding enough stone. Wind turbines will also activate if the grid is parked on solid ground.

Try to look for a good collection of resources and then set up shop. Any stone will provide most base materials, so cobalt is the next key resource. A huge ice lake will provide unlimited energy for heavy refining.
