Turret "Idle movement" option wont work
So basically i tried making a turret and enable the Idle movement option to make it look like its actually fonctionnal and protecting my base. But the problem is that everytime i try to enable it and exit the control pannel or simply change an option, the idle movement options switches OFF. I tried fixing it myself for several hours, but nothing worked. Checked the discussions, but nobody seems to talk about it. I watched videos on youtube, did the exact same things as they did, worked for them, not for me.

Oh and also, it looks like some of the spiders that spawns on Alien planet have no hitbox and can't move unless they dig down and up to the surface again. The turrets wont target them, the spiders wont move but will attack if you are too close to them. Rifle bullets have no effects on them.

Few minutes ago, my turrets even targeted a spider that was not even at the surface yet and kept shooting in the distance for about a minute before i went to check, triggered the spider, and finally killed it.

Hi, do you play in multiplayer world ?

Asking because "Idle movement" is not working on servers for Perfo reason.

Also spider get stuck sometime and I just move away to reset those, and you may report to the SE Programmers from a Portal Bug Report, the link is in the pinned green messages.

When playing modified

We must test in a new created No Mods world, set creative mode to test faster, to have the first clue as to know if it is a Mod problem.

+ Most Mods have good information in the Workshop item page description, so always good to read to know more about the Mod we want to use.

Info + about Mods

Never mess with the original save, better follow the steps we all do after a game update to find the mods that needs to be removed and reported.

How to test a world or find broken/conflicting Mods :

1 - Select your save.
2 - Click the "Save as" button on the left.
3 - Change the save name to create a *copy.
4 - Add and Withdraw one Mod at a time in the copy.

5 - Report to the Mod author (on WS item page) when broken Mod found so he can fix/update his Mod, always very kind to let them know.

*copy
Never test with your original save, better create a copy and fix the original save when solution found in the copy, this way you will not mess up your save.

So i created a new world, no mods, no scripts and the problem is still there.

I'm going to report it as you said, thank you

Good, it's the best we can do to know more.

Just give them a few days to reply so keep an eye on your report to see what they will tell you.

The idle movement option ONLY works in single-player games.
If you open it to the internet in any way, then the idle movements cease to function due to performance issues, as Dan2D3D pointed out.

Its a private world. Only i have access to it and didnt "open" it for people or friends to join in any way

Creating a fresh world with no mods did not help. I tried messing with the script options and stuffs but didnt help at all

The code will decide whether or not to allow or stop the animation based on multiple factors including processor load and character presence. Once it has decided to stop, it will not usually restart. You may or may not get any useful or helpful response to a direct question you pose to Keen via their support site or direct mail.

My first question: Is the game world Creative or Survival?
Power input and output doesn't matter in Creative mode. It does matter in Survival mode.

If it's Survival mode I have a second question: Are power resources adequate?
Power fluctuates it's not constantly the same input and output. If the power they're getting goes below what they need to fully operate that could be why they're shutting idle movement off, so they can still shoot when they need to.

Try adding more power.

Raises a third question: What script is it? Does it have a feature that turns idle movement off? That's what's doing it if it does.

They should tell you if you add the save with bug in the Portal Bug Report.

I have tested on my side playing Offline mode SS Vanilla World, no Mods/no Plugins, with "Block limit" disabled and the "Turret Idle movement" works very well :

So there is something wrong in your save if not working for you and better let them know.

A thing we could test would be to share your world save having the bug in so "Idle movement not working", this way all can load to help you find the cause or at least see if the same for all of us.

How to share a world save on the Workshop :

1 - Select your save.

2 - Click the "Publish" button on the left.

3 - Choose a proper Tag, check Steam upload and click the OK button.

4 - Your world will be uploaded to Steam Workshop.

5 - Paste the Workshop item link here.
