As soon as I shut them down, everything went back to normal.
Since you don't speak 'technobabble' I won't bore you with the details, but let's just say that my computer is not a cheap one. It has the balls to run just about any game on the market today on max settings.
Maybe someday this will get fixed in some way, but in the meantime, I wouldn't bother with it. It's more trouble than it's worth, in my opinion.
Agree. Best avoided... however, by all means try it yourself... here's the easy way, this is a simple small world save ...

Step 2: Place an LCD screen and enter the camera's name into the LCD screen's Custom Data. (CTRL+V)
Step 3: In the LCD screen's settings select "Script" from the display options (None, Text & Images, Script) then select "Camera Display" from the menu that appears when you select "Script".
Step 4: Type /cameralcd in chat to enable the plugin and adjust settings.
There are other settings available for it. I've asked it's author to post the instructions somewhere so they're available. His display name is avaness. If you post in the pinned Plugin Manager topic on these forums he might answer you there.
The author shared the github link[github.com] to the plugin. If you want to use it on a cockpit screen include #: before the camera name in the cockpit or control seat's Custom Data. No space after the colon ( : ) .
The script sees the screens numbered from left to right. The first screen left is 1:
1:CameraName
In the cockpit's custom data.
Second screen from the left on a cockpit or control seat:
2:CameraName
In the cockpit's custom data.
My system is at least 10 year old hardware. With adjusting the settings I only get a very slight skip of lag with 1 screen using this plugin but the more I add, yeah, the worse it gets when I use it on a station.
What I mostly use it for that I've found to work well and not lag is for camera views on cockpit screens. I leave the script enabled but turn the on/off as I need or want the camera view on the dash for an immersive effect.
True: We can just set the camera view to a toolbar key and not use the plugin.
The lag is because it confiscates frames from the video card out of the game to place on the LCD. It's a really cool feature! My hope is avaness finds a way to copy the frames instead of confiscate them. I assume he's tried that.
