Who's still playing SE1?
I am! I just wonder if anyone else is, or if the vast majority have been seduced by the SE2 demo. My public server (Keen's server, the one I play on) feels a bit empty lately, but that might just be bad timing on my part.

As much as I love the building system of SE2, it's a little too early for me to switch completely.

I still play SE1 as my primary game and jump into SE2 to play around with specific designs.

Hi Captain Canard,
I will still play SE1 because I now have more experience at making AI Drones.

+ to be honest
-> SE2 got me good because I now can create way way faster in SE2 and I like A Lot.

I still tinker with SE1. There are admittedly still good things about it even if it still frustrates me with inconsistencies and design choices that seem to exist solely to be obnoxious.

But despite all that, SE2 offers me nothing at all. I also have no faith in it precisely because of all the problems I face in SE1, so I just haven't bothered.

I'll give SE2 a look when it actually launches in full.

I might jump into SE2 on the next milestone. Building ships that can't do anything feels a little empty at the moment.

The official server I play on still gets to 16/16 players on the daily. The Prototech has made things more interesting as it gives people a reason to congregate into the same area.
I do, I have invested too much time in my complex builds since I got this game last February 2024 to just toss it out for a new game that is just a alpha state. I want to enjoy my creations! You don't build a model and then put it back in a box! You build it, display it, mess with it, and so forth..
I will get SE2 one day, it isn't going anywhere...

There is a lot to do in SE1 for players liking to create and I can tell I did not tried all even at 6000 hours in.

SE2 need 3 years to have the important added in for the participant to test.

A lot of playing time in both games for me.
I'm glad folks are still playing SE1. I don't want to get left behind! Like many of you, I need a LOT more features to be added before I leave SE1 for SE2.

Still play? Why not? I still play Kerbal 1 and it's a decade old. Even age beyond that is dubious a reason not to play something in this day and age. FOMO of missing out on playing the latest and greatest is just dumb. They're not going anywhere. Most new stuff is slop anyway. Maybe SE2 totally duds out for whatever reason. "Bigger number better lol" is no guarantee a sequel is superior. Look at Kerbal 2.
SE1 though occasional, here. Not being able to afford SE2 in several ways aside, quite glad SE2 would be a separate game, as it would be available for older and less powerful hardware. All the old memories and builds still remain available without problems a gradual (or not so much) upgrade inevitably brings. Developers also remain available to be supported too.

When you get SE2, you'll have both games. This isn't an either-or thing. There is nothing saying you can't play both games as you please.

Yes, and I also still play Farming Sim 19.....

I just got SE1 a few weeks ago... I'm not about to buy SE2 for years lol...

+1 same thoughts.

I'm not interested in being a beta tester let alone an alpha tester. I only picked SE1 up a few weeks ago because It's still, to this day, tagged as "early access" on steam, a tag I have my feed set to ignore. I certainly would have picked it up much sooner if it hadn't been so tagged. ABSOLUTELY NO $$ from me until it's a finished game. Otherwise every game will be an alpha/beta forever like 'star citizen' with no finished game in site ever.

Yes, Star Citizen, the forever alpha online MP. I think the council voting is the reason bugs is a issue and thus the game goes goes no where. But hey, you know what other game that uses a voting system? This one. Like you see a unfinished part, or spot a issue, and report it, if the game can run with out the fix or addition, they do nothing. So you got to vote for it. And like Star Citizen, nothing happens. I bet they related some where..
