Difference Between Space Engineers and Space Engineers 2
Besides using a new game engine what else is there like will it just be a copy and paste of the old one just with some new features and better graphics? I read through the game description and didn't seem like much would be changing. Just wanted to see if I'm missing something because I love the game but don't know what the difference would be between the two.

The link, Fives5555, left you, shows the Vertical Slices in order of development. Planets and Survival won't come until Vertical Slice 2, so, there's plenty of time to watch the course of development and jump in if it looks good to you.

First of all it's too early in the development to know what the end result will be and therefore anything said at this point would be pure speculation.

What I mean about speculation is this, back in 2013/2014 players were wanting planets and Keen said that they didn't think it could be done but after DX9 upgraded to DX11 it became possible for them to do it.
In other words, it's hard to predict with any certainty what will and what won't be in the final game.

It's going to be awhile before it gets to a point where there are planets and survival and other things like NPC's and Multiplayer, so, there is no big rush to get it right now.

There is a Space Engineers 2 forum and I would check there from time to time to see what those that have it, in whatever current state the game is in, and what their opinions about it are.

That's what I did here before I bought Space Engineers. I knew it was in a early state of development right from the start and also knew that there would be bugs.
A lot of them were speaking highly of it, so, I jumped in and have had fun with it ever since, but that's me and what my mind likes doing.
If SE2 becomes what I think it will be, I will get it when it's developed a little further along.

GUYS STOP BUYING SE2 if they countinue trolling

the problem at all is the boss- hiding behind good and creativ people- he is definitively not the owner of his own grid so he trys to create a new one "space engineers 2"- but the pcu coast of the community has been never set as border for himselfe . . . For example when you do or create something thas good pepole chanche all things to wonderful things while the grannyplaybois never solved their own reallllity wher the granny it does . . .

1 example of a huge list:

parachute hatch block is in dev state has never been finnished- Keen loves to see you crashing . loves to see you push the button to open the parachute hatch. Wide mor loves keen than when you pushing the button again and again - - they pay 5000€ for a picture of your face at this moment as a collection for their private partys.



And at least all the players writing and writing . and this does not coast the manager for it whats the community do - giving tips . Wher ist their vision? not in space engineers just on the bank.

Please stop promting keen to give your toxic infos they are planned you to spam.

Your problem which you talking about is fouled because its in your head actually - it is older than 15 Years . . . it will not stop thats a armada of toxic players is growing.

it was a fail - space engineers 2 appeared without finishing 1 . . so whats the finish of SE2?

wow cool voxelhand - - ehh how old ist it . . ist a think of space engineers 1 Keen also not finished to the gameplay . . . my tp was it to give a optio for survival to use it with gravel and ice in combi, Moment also a tip was it to use gravel for the prduction of the waek grinder -- oh oh oh oh oh m g . . iv got lists in the past created . . in the past . . .
whats todayy- theve realized normal intensions only to 40% - Is this Gamedevelopement or just a real drillingstation?

HI, I can tell it took me 10 hours to get used to the new building system because not the same and I am not the fastest gamer on Steam so takes more time for me,
now that I am used to I can create way way faster compared to SE1 and like it A Lot.

All blocks can fit together so Tiny blocks named "Decor" + small block + large block = all can merge together.

Keep in mind the first testing (VS1) is just to try the new system on making a ship cause only thruster and gyros are working so no need of power.

We can build stations where you will test your "Deco" skills at making the block you want, I mean making a block that does not exist in-game, for example, here is my first stairs block I have created in-game and can add to character toolbar to use as brand new block :

Opinion : SE2 will be the showcase of what you can do artistic-wise (pretty, but useless) but SE1 will showcase what you can to function-wise (useful, but not pretty). Keen was never a fan of experimental mode and likely wants to avoid it in SE2, but that's where airtightness and programmable blocks are from.

And airlock doors. I know I will get flack for it but I wannnaaaaa, and medium armour with FeNi alloy, stronger but not as strong and heavy as with cobalt
And while you at it, add derelect space ships full of aliens, a space looting, space hulks, exploring wrecks, NPCs, mini games, economy...

Whatever they choose to add, hopefully they take the time to make them actually work, as opposed to something useless like weapons that can't accept their own ammo.

Edit: Or at least better document what's needed to make that happen. Game never did have good instructions.
