What is a better driver? Nvidia GTX 980? or Nvidia GeForce 8800GT?

Suggestions? I'm installing the GTX driver atm. Do I need the hardware to use Nvidia or can i use the driver and have every game i play run smoothly on max graphics?

what graphics card is physically in your system.

a driver is a code that tells your operating system how to talk to a specific piece of harware. yes you can install the driver but unless you have the actual card its useless.

Im not the most computer savvy person out there..havent had one in several years. and nvm about the Nvidia i just realized i have to have an Intel HD 4000 to run this game since i do not have a Nvidia GPU

its part of being a PC gamer, eventually you'll have to learn how to build a PC and install the proper software. through that you'll understand how it all works. its how i did anyway.

The drivers are likely very similar with simple de-featuring going on under the hood for the various cards. The GTX 980 is superior to the 8800GT and since NVidia uses unified driver architecture the statement which driver is better does not make any sense.
