Projector on dedicated survival map

Hey EVIL here,

Im wondering if there is a way to disable this new projector block...

Its neat and all but I got to say it takes survival out of survival and I will also add that all Im gonna have is 30 Star Destroyers ruinning frames per second and sim speed, people will take full advantage of this like its there own private server and basically ruin it for everybody else. I see that written in stone and a HUGE problem for dedicated servers.

My question is there a way to disable remove or break projector block and make it unusable on my Dedicated server...

1: I'm not sure if the Projector will actually do much to FPS. Modern computer equipment is GREAT at handling the displayed mesh (what you see), it just slows down on the hitbox (what you hit).

2: Takes the survival out of survival? So, the survival in it is ATTEMPTING to recreate your favourite ship, run it through welders and then realize you f'd it up? Uhh, no.
Think of this as looking at a normal blueprint/instruction manual, then assembling it from there. Is that not how many things are done?

Although, I can stillllllllLLLLLL sorta understand your concern slightly, I just dont agree with it :/

And yes this I can see already as HUGE Issue for dedicated servers of all types... maybe just maybe a plus for some strictly PvP servers... Mine isnt that so.

And as far as welding and realizing you screwed up... you prove my point for me... that is survival... whats the point of grabbing a assualt frigate from the work shop and welding it... Not much of "SURVIVAL" setting and takes the entire concept away from it.

My question is the fact that this and just about everybody on my server which is one of the most populated on this game see's this the way I do... not very thought out nice feature but I want a way to disable it.

Again my question is there a way to break or disable this feature if not there needs to be

still going huh... you bring up drone ships and everything else... the FACT your negating is the FACT you really dont have to "Engineer" ♥♥♥♥ anymore or design it... go in subscribe to a blue print and bam there ya go...

Evil, with all due respect you are talking like an idiot, you disrespect the people who are trying to help, give respect to get respect.

I do have my own public dedicated server and I play with people who build big, and yet I welcome this feature.
Why? because people will still have to get all the resources and have to manualy or with automated welders make the ship.
The only difference between doing it by hand or with a blueprint is that you now have an awesome 3D hologram of that ship that you want to make.

If you are afraid that they will make their huge battlecruisers on your server then they will have to dedicate themselfs to get the millions of resources to make it in survival, most people who want to ruin servers will not do this.

However griefing will be a big problem, first thing I tought was: "NUCLEAR MISSILE FACTORY HERE WE COME!"
But to be fair the griefing problem was there even before we had this new feature.

And before you say "thank you for your opinion" this was not an opinion, what I stated are facts.

But if you are so scared of people doing wrong things with it, just ban those idiots, I expect you know how to make yourself an admin don't you.

There is a way of banning certain objects on a server, I have no idea if its possible like it is in Minecraft, but there should be a workaround to disalow people of having certain items. I'm pretty sure there is a gifted coder who can make a script for it.
But remember to check your Server Hosts Rules Of Agreement before you tamper with the core files, you might not get help when you ♥♥♥♥ up the core files.

Such a thing wouldn't be a mod, it would be a plugin because it does not add any blocks or functionality, it adds code to the game disalowing people to get that function going.

One thing that might deserve some consideration isn't being addressed here. With the addition of this great new feature that simply takes tedious block by block placing out of the picture, who is going to want to play on a server that REQUIRES the tedious block by block placement anymore? Just a thought.

Like we all said, no it is not possible, now go back to your server.
