Can't dump cargo from large mining ship.
So i reworked the respawn ship into a large mining ship, collected ores, blah blah blah, then i went and made a conveyor system with a collector on my platform but when i went to install an ejector on the ship i noticed i can only use it for small ships. So how do i dump the cargo from my ship into the collector?

PS: i did think of connectors, but the last time i tried those (it was a small ship) they simply didn't do anything.

you can use ejectors on both small and large ship/stations. simply park your ship above the platform ejector, then set the platform ejector to collect all and the ship ejector to eject all. but connectors work just as well, just be sure to check the ownership, if 2 connectors aren't owned by the same person/faction they wont connect, i've made that mistake before

The problem is i can't install an ejector on a large ship.

use a connector connected to a conveyer system, you can set them to "collect all" and "eject all" in the menu. maybe they got an update since you tried them last?

Did that, still not ejecting anything. I've hooked it up the refinery on the ship btw, and the refinery itself is hooked up to the conveyor system. Maybe that's the problem?

Here's a screenshot of how it's all connected.
The yellow thing is the ship, the gray thing is the cargo container on the platform. As you can see, the connectors are connected yet nothing is moving anywhere. Oh, and the connector from the platform seems to have filled up with stuff from the container below.
Ship connector is set to eject all and platform connector is set to collect all.

A connector for large ship has the same 'throw out' function as an ejector for small ship.

Don't connector work only when they're connected together? And yeah, i turned the ship's connector on way before i moved it to the connector on the platform and nothing went out. Is the refinery a problem? Asking because i don't wanna tear up the ship if it's not an issue.

if the connector is connected to another ship it wont throw things out. if they are coonnected you can use the K screen to manually drag and drop the items between inventories. this is marginally more tedious than than setting a connector to throw out above a collector but its a hell of a lot faster

if you just want it to throw things out though just line the connector up with a collector and set function to throw out

Ok, hooked the ship's connector directly into the conveyor system instead of the refinery, but for some reason the connector isn't pulling in things from the ship's cargo containers. Any solution to this? Or will i have to drag everything into the connector manually?

Drag and drop. As far as i know it's not automatic at this time.
u2020bullet Nov 15, 2014 @ 7:32am
Damn, they really should make ejectors for large ships, that way it's all automatic.

You have to have the "collect all" box unchecked before ejecting or using the Connector to throw all, if not the items stay.

1st click collect all, then uncheck that and set to throw.

it is unchecked, and everything was set up all right but it didn't work. So i simply replaced the connector on the platform with a collector and just dumping cargo into that.

Not a bug its been like this forever you can use conectors to dump items just set to to dump all

easiest way to move your cargo is to connect the 2 ships like you did in your screenshot and go into your inventory menu and "drag" everything from ship/station #1 to ship/station #2

you can also use the automatic inventory sorting mod to collect all the resources from your mining ship
