Xbox Controls for Space Engineers!
Hello, Space Engineers Community! I have made controls for space engineers using JoyToKey and would like some feed back. I know the game is coming to Xbox One in the future so anyways here's my version of the controls. Please give feeback!!! I want to improve on these controls because I didn't map all keys

Edit 1(11/12/14): I made the post more visually appealing and will be updating the text so that the Ctrl key( This key is used to place a line or area of blocks and is also used in many other in game actions) will be implemented
Also, I'm thinking about making a similar set of controls so that you don't have to hold down buttons so much. I'll be doing this by making a set of Primary and Editing controls. Switching between the two by a button press/hold. I'll test this to make sure it's feasible and doesn't feel to awkward.

Controls

Left Stick : Move
Right Stick : Look
A : Jump
Y : Jetpack (Hold for color pick)
B : Interact (Hold for Personal Inventory/ Control panel in cockpits)
X : Hotkey 0 (Hold for Lights)
Start : Game Menu
Back : 1st/3rd View (Hold for Creative Inventory)
Strafe left : Left bumper
Strafe right : Right bumper
Right trigger : Use
Left trigger : Secondary
Right click stick : Crouch/Down
Left click stick : Run

Dpad(Hold only, press does nothing)
Changes button functions

Up : LB/RB cycle hotbars
Right Stick Up/Down --> Zoom in/out in 3rdPV

Left : Y,X,A,B --> 1,2,3,4 (Hotkeys)

Down : Rotate item placement Y,X,A,B--> Up, Left, Down, Right
LB/RB --> Rotate on X Axis Right/Left

Right : Y,X,A,B --> 5,6,7,8(Hotkeys)

Instructions

JoyToKey.net Download [joytokey.net]

2. Save the copied text as Space Engineers.cfg

3. Go to file > open and open the file Space Engineers.cfg from where you saved it

4. Select Space Engineers in JoyToKey

4. Plug in your controller, open Space Engineers and Enjoy!

I REJECT THIS IDEA COMPLEATLY! I have a vaild reason. Microsoft(Xbox) is buying all the new cool games because Xbox 1 was outshied by PS4(lookit up im not fanboying) and they lost money so they are buying the rights to games or getting exclusives to try and get their money back.

You reject what, exactly? The deal that KSH already signed and you can't do anything about? Or this fine man's diligent work to bring controller support to a game that many have been asking for?

I hope you know Space engineers is also coming to PS4 after 12 months release on xbox one.

Or so? I saw in the news today that Microsoft is finally allowing .net to happen in Linux!

... Then again, I'm not a programmer, and don't know if that helps our situation at all. Then again again, the differences between Xbox and PlayStation have never prevented the "exclusivity only lasts a year" trope before.

Some people still reject the "idea" that the world is round. Doesn't make it any less true

So perhaps rather than just knocking it, you could try and be part of the soution?

Someone has taken the time to look at this and that should be respected, weather you happen to agree with it or not, XBOX will happen unless SE dies first.

Just wanted to follow-up on this. I decided to purchase a xbox360 (aftermarket) controller and it works extremely well! I particularly like the joystick controls which makes navigating (flying, walking) much easier and natural. The buttons are well mapped to certain common actions. Definitely makes the gameplay better....less looking down at the keyboard to get fingers on keys.

Why did you necro this? This thread is about using third party software for controller support! The feature has already been added!
