Another Remote Control bug
Hey guys

I've recently gotten around to trying out the Remote Control system in Space Engineers, but it doesn't appear to be working. I've looked for other threads that cover it but have been unable to find one, most of the threads about bugs in Remote Control seem to be about the Control button being greyed out or all controls being unresponsive due to block ownership issues or whatever.

But my problem is quite different. I can take control of my remote drone just fine, and it even responds to maneuvering commands, EXCEPT it doesn't respond to mouse movement! I can make it go backwards and forwards, strafe, etc, but moving the mouse does not change the ship's orientation, and I've failed to find any solution to or even mention of this problem anywhere.

Any ideas?

Oh, actually no, it doesn't! Now I feel pretty stupid, hehe.

I thought those were only there to help the inertial dampening, didn't know they were actually required to maneuver the ship. I assumed the directional thrusters did that, as that's what seems intuitive :p

Thank you for the help!

When I'm building ships, there are a few items that I consider to be an absolute necessity:

  • A thruster in each direction
  • A power supply
  • A gyroscope
  • Some method of control, whether it be a cockpit, or an antenna/remote control block setup

Once you have the above-listed items, you're pretty much ready to fly the ship.
Other items, such as lights, guns, or even armor blocks aren't needed for a ship to be functional.
I have actually built a ship that's 3x3x5 blocks in size. It meets all of my requirements, but also has a landing gear, a camera, and an ore detector. There are no armor blocks at all. The main reason why I have just those items is quite simple: The ship is a prospecting drone. No more, no less.
