Unable to change block colors

I cannot seem to change the color of blocks once i have placed them in creative mode, is this a bug? Or did they change something? I haven't been able to find anything else on this, so thought I would ask.

Just checking but do you have a block in your hand while trying to change the colour? P opens is the paint menu...cntrl P to use the colour match....middle button to paint.

Just double checked myself, it is weird, I can manually select the color of the block to be placed, I can open up the paint menu, and do the color match, but it won't let me paint any blocks (other than placing them in that color).

Nevermind, just witnessed my 1 year old grab the mouse off the edge of the desk and commence smashing it on the floor, conclusion: time to get a new mouse, and leave it out of reach of tiny hands.

I'm having the same problem i can change the color use P or [, and ] but i can't color block and im using the middle mouse button and have tried changing the key binding to a key on the keyboard. I fixed it once by verifiing the game cach but that didn't work this time around. I don't know what to do at this point.

Try this :

Type in your explorer: %appdata%\SpaceEngineers

Go to the SpaceEngineers folder
C: users / your username / appdata / roaming / spaceengineers

>> then delete the ''SpaceEngineers.cfg'' file and try the game.

If you still can't paint = it may be because you are using a Laptop where you have to hit the Fn key first.

I will lock this old discussion so create new if you still can't fix.
