How the game does it is simple, there is a flag "save" that can be applied to ships, it's simply set to false. Not sure if that is the exact one used for respawn ships, but you get the general idea.
I've experimented with both those ideas and neither worked for me.
I always thought the merge block needed power! That's good to know. I'll try this out.
And your explanation of the "save" flag is helpful. I assume that if you saw your ship in half, then both halves become seaprate ships and both still have the "save" flag?
huh, ive tried that b4 and i had the message "Merge block not available for small ships". but i just tried again and it Works, thank you dga807.
