Small ship gatling guns wont fire?
Anyone else having trouble with the gatling guns on a small ship not firing?

I built a small combat drone since the patch today, and the gatling guns won't fire. They are attached, powered, and loaded, but no bang bang.

How do you want to fire them? LMB click? I have the same problem with the drill. I were able to simply activate the drill by holding LMB and deactivating it by releasing LMB in the previous version. But now this doesn't seem to work anymore :(

You have to make sure that A. the tool or weapon is on the cockpit (or remote) toolbar and B. that item has been selected as the active item.

Is there another toolbar except the cockpit toolbar if you sit in your cockpit and hit the G-Key? What do you mean by "selected as active item"?

What I am doing:
I get into the cockpit, hit the G-Key to open up the toolbar config UI. There I choose the drill, place it onto key 1, select "toggle block on/off" and thats it. In the last version I could then simply click LMB and the drill switched on until I released the LMB again. Now nothing happens.

Maybe I'm doing something wrong again^^

Same as elcid. If I add the guns to the toolbar, either singly or as a group, I only have the option of turning them on or off. There's no "select the items" for gatling guns.

In previous versions I just had to click LMB and the guns would fire, as long as they were loaded. Now I don't even get the little red sighting dots.

Yeah, you are. The way you've set it up here is for hotbar activation, not mouse left-click. You need to press the corresponding number key for the tool/weapon hotbar slot which then just toggles that weapon/tool/group on/off each keypress.

For mouse left-button click, you'll need to select the correct category filter from the list on the left-side then drag/right-click the tool/weapon to the hotbar from the grid.

To explain a little further.. dragging the weapon/tool from the 'All Blocks' or the 'Groups' filtered grid should bring up a list of actions. That means whatever action you choose will take place when you hit the corresponding hotbar number key. If you choose the 'toggle on/off' action for a - say, weapon - it will act as an 'arming' button, turning the weapon on (available to fire) or off (will not fire). You still need to set the weapon from the 'Weapons and Tools' filtered grid to the hotbar though to be able to actually fire it with your mouse button.

This ^^

That's what I was talking about. Apologies. I didn't realize you guys needed more detail.

That explained a lot! Thanks Fury6 and Eviscerator. It finally works now ;)

Thanks for the help guys... Just bought the game yesterday and couldn't figure this one on my own. Your posts cleared everything in a jiffy.
Happy engineering :)
