Does that make sense? FWIW, SE 2 will allow large to small conveyor conversion, and I think that's great!
ps - you can technically go from large to small grid / conveyor if you don't mind subgridding, using a rotor or a hinge. Another option is to use a large grid / small connector, and then run small grid piping from that (again, it'll be a subgrid).

It's a kluge, but it does work! Just remember that small conveyors are limited in what they can pass. That and it's quite expensive PCU-wise. Personally, I recommend against it, but if there is a reason you need this, here it is!
SE2's unified grid system will be a huge plus to engineers as all blocks (small and large) basically considered one "unified" grid size.
Now the large grid conveyors are the equivalent to the small conveyor on small grid, so if you want the equivalent on large grid, it would be an adapter to a HUGE pipe - like 3x3 diameter pipe (large grid), and there's really no need for that.
I do believe you are confusing grid sizes with conveyor sizes, and they really are two different things.
Its like a circle of capability with a gap.
The supergridding exploit notwithstanding of course (not something you can do in-game).
I don't know what else to tell you. \o/
= ??
Normal connector is for small and large + same for the new Tiny connector.
Maybe share some screenshots so all can see what you want to do and share the solution for your creation.

EDIT
The only difference is large items can't go through Tiny conveyor.
In above screenshot = Tiny connector is painted Blue on large grid.
Small block ship to large block station and that works the other way around large to small :

What i have been trying to do is connect a medium oxy tank to a large grid vent for an airlock (because the 2 block oxy tank is waaay too big for the purpose and difficult to fit into my build). So i had to use a hinge with a medium head.
Which got me wondering why the 'conveyor converter/adaptor' only works one-way (small grid to medium grid). The medium conveyor is the same size as large conveyors just a bit shorter.
Why cant the conveyor converter attach to a large grid conveyor? Which would allow small conveyor system to plumb into large grid system.
In my earlier post i said large conveyors could connect to the adaptor/converter, i was mistaking the medium conveyors for large ones. Apologies for any confusion on my part.
But seriously why cant the conveyor converter not attach to large grid? The opening is the same size.
It's confusing because SE's grid system is confusing until you get used to it. Thankfully SE 2 fixes this problem with the unified grid system.
Indeed it's not working but that is a good suggestion to add to the Devs "Choice list" on the Official SE1 Support Portal as vote feedback to have a chance they choose your idea to add in future game update.
So the Feedback title should look like this :
-> Large block converter
+
Description -> We need the small block converter but for large block.
And send them the world save having your creation as reason why it is needed.
