I also see people saying "SE2 looks so much better than SE1", but I don't see it being THAT much of a visual upgrade. And I worry that the visual upgrade this is there will cost me dearly in performance..
So yes, long live Space Engineers #1 !!! :D
· Modernized UI (they're changing the UI again...)
· Cargo Ship Improvements.
· Action Slot UI Improvements
· New Prototech block and encounter(s).
· QoL improvements and bug fixes.
1.207 update will concentrate on enhancing survival gameplay, adding many new options to the game including environment hazardds.
1.208 will aim to improve and expand PVP.
To me, the textures are a lot nicer, the shadows are visually better, but without raytracing I get none of the reflections everyone goes all goey about.
So yeah, the difference, visually, is there, but not huge if you don't have raytracing.
Then again, I couldn't play beyond "medium" settings (it defaulted to "low" for me).
My card is *just* shy of specs. The minimum is a GTX 1660 Super, while mine is a normal GTX 1660. IIRC, the difference is DDR5 vs DDR6, with the Super being about 10% faster (my wife and kid both have the Super).
I mention that because "High" or "Ultra" (or whatever it is beyond "High") might look substantially better (you need way more than 6GB VRAM for "High").
Now that I think of it, I'm very curious how some youtubers got visors that reflect in SE(1).
