... HOTAS support ...

It really depends on the options in the specific hardware you use - the stick part should be fine, the throttle may be awkward as it would really only be interpreted in stepways up and down, and the way the other controls are mapped may not work well on all hardware... but certainly some players do use them... I'm sure the thread will get many more responses with both CaveDwellers and my own POV :)

Hi, looks like they did not updated the game for HOTAS.

Info +
One Xbox player created the Vote Feedback on the Official SE Support Portal and the best you can do would to go post a comment to push that "Petition" on the front page of suggestions.

-> Post a good reason why you need, that will help the member asking for it :

EDIT
There is also one "Petiton" created by PC user :

The XBox ONE has compatible HOTAS controllers, which presumably use X-Input and should be natively compatible with Space Engineers as an XBox compatible Controller.

However, I think the throttle is configured for Left Joystick Analog forward, which is typically the preferred "nose down" control in HOTAS setups.

When you say "step ways up and down", I'm assuming you mean binary "tap, tap". However, I reason analog sampling resolution as "steps".

I'm thinking that "step ways" would alternately sample binary full throttle and zero throttle which would trigger dampeners. Meanwhile, digital sampling resolution beyond binary would result in any "positive" sampled "step" value restricting the dampeners from engaging.

What keyboard and analog controls can be remapped to a Flightstick and Throttle?

Does Space Engineers support DirectInput analog remapping for "legacy" HOTAS as an alternative to WASD and Mouse look?

If X-Input, then is there something special about HOTAS support beyond classical DirectInput controls remapping? Can Left Analog Forward be remapped to the controller's "Right Throttle Trigger" to better support the preferred HOTAS controller mapping?

I haven't gotten around to getting a modern HOTAS controller, and my old Flightstick uses the DB-15 MIDI port.
