Just getting into SE, looking for a mobile base ship
First off, I am having a blast with SE, really a fun take on the survival crafting genre. Now on to my quest for a nice blueprint! I have been searching through the workshop looking for just the right ship for me and my friend (we rent our own server), and browsing the workshop is kind of a poor experience, which has made finding what I am looking for unnecessarily difficult.

What I am looking for on this ship:

  • Large Grid
  • 4 or more Refinery with space for full mods
  • 2 or more Assemblers with space for mods
  • 2 Crypods
  • A large amount of docking connectors for many medium sized small grid ships, + a couple LG ships.
  • Minimal amount of subgrids/rotor stuff
  • Printable in Survival
  • Looks nice

If anyone here can help me with my search it would be appreciated.

OOOooo, thats a stiff order. Well, best way you can search that is, go to the main menu just before starting any game, then go to where it says game, and find and check experimental mode, then start a new game with empty solar system, make sure in all the advance settings anything related to econo, or trade or factions, or contracts is off, cap is at zero. Then start a new game and began making it yourself. If your in creative mode, should be ok, if in survival, make sure the admin tools are on via ALT-F10, and PCU cap ignore is on.

Cause even tho there are ships in the workshop, and many of us make our own "faction tech" vehicles/ships/bases/stations, BUT, no one gets paid here to just go around making custom vehicles/ships/bases/stations for someone. Majority of us builders, have building our own to play our own game.
My suggestion is, either look in the workshop, or play a game senerio, with the admin tools on, and when you see something you can reverse tech of it, blue print it. And pull it up in a separate empty game to work on/adjust/edit. On a side note, you could get lucky and find that one who will..
Good luck:se:
Find a ship that you like the looks of and convert it to what you want. I've done that with a faction-mate and it was actually a lot of fun. We took about 7 or 8 ships from the workshop and evaluated them in creative mode. Then we selected the best couple and started modifying them.

I've got this ship that might work for you. But you'll probably want to modify it a little and remove all the extra little ships that it comes with: lots of refineries, lots of connectors.

There's also a less PCU intensive version as well.

I love the ship, but I was never able to find that through the steam workshop search :winter2019saddog: so thank you for sharing it with me here! I believe that modifying an existing blueprint is the way to go for sure, I think we will be taking the same approach as you, so thank you for your help.

@andy
when you click the link to check out the ship.. there is a green subscribe button.. //this is the same thing as in the workshop ;o)
once you click that, you will find the ship in your subscribed items on steam and also in the projector list in game
