I have a large grid base and a small grid rover but the connectors will not hook up because of grid size difference Help!
How do I make small grid and large grid connectors hook up so my rover can charge? I wish this game had a way to connect small grid to large grid. Or maybe just some electrical cables.

Use a Connector, rotor, landing gear, merge block, magnet, piston. Connector is the most common.
Large grid and small grid connectors will "lock" to one another. Both connectors need to be powered in order to connect.

I'm pretty sure that only one connector needs to be powered (it changed recently).
As stated, there are options for connecting small and large grid. For example Large and Small Connectors will connect assuming they are close to equal height in alignment. Additionally small grid rotor heads will connect to part grid rotors, the same goes for hinges.

Really the only things that will not connect together are Large grid merge blocks to small grid merge blocks, and large grid pistons to small grid piston heads. And the latter I am not 100% on.

Both need to be powered in order to connect. What they changed was the connector staying locked if a grid loses power.

I know for a fact that I've installed a connector on an unpowered large grid, landed my small-grid ship onto the unpowered connected, then locked. Power from my small-grid ship then powered the large grid.

Well that was a lame update from Keen....

So yes, connectors work completely normal on a grid that is turned off now as if that is completely logical. I had the connector turned "off" when I tested it earlier.

I don't see that as lame. Before that update if a grid lost power anything connected got disconnected, fell off and got lost or destroyed. THAT was lame.

Are you sure you own both of the connectors? Also, is one damaged below the functional line?

They should work as others stated, so something is wrong.
Or you just need to get the connectors more level to each other. There is some misalignment margin of error. But you might need some half-slab blocks and a ramp to it. Or make it adjustable with 2 hinges after another turning in opposite directions, then the connector on it. With the hinge velocities the same but opposite directions the connector will keep the same angle as ypu move it up or down. So group the hinges together and use a button pannel to reverse direction or lock to hold steady.

Hi, the game is made for small ship connector to lock on station connector but make sure you keep "trade" option Off on all connectors because you will not be able to transfer at your owned stations (that option on connector is for Trading stations only).

Connected. They're not the same exact size but as you can see by the bright green light they are connected. Are you having trouble getting them lined up?

If you group the wheel suspensions together you can set a key to the cockpits's hotbar and use either the strength or the height settings to raise and lower the vehicle.

Up when Disconnected

Down when connected.

If you name your ship something unique in the info tab and have an antenna and a remote control block on it you can stand somewhere you can see everything, drive it, and access the control panel to adjust the wheel height.
