That said, SE1 is their best seller with 2000 to 5000 players playing every days and new Gamers buying the game every months so I don't think they will stop today.
+
BUT
They must stop at some point because players keep asking for more so they must follow the community and make better new games to make more money.
I also have a question :
How much Game Devs on Steam keep updating their game from community suggestions after 11 years ?
_______
Edit Note
In case some don't know me I must specifiy :
-> I am not a SE Dev but forum Moderator community helper/game tester, also very active player and I help the SE community since 2013 because it's my Favorite Sandbox game on Steam, and they gave me the [Dev] Tag so I can be admin of the Workshop to help more.
SE1 got millions copies sold and keep selling because a lot of gamers like that space sandbox game.
+
SE Lovers asking to have small block on large and volumetric water, the most wanted by the SE community, they will buy SE2 so probably millions copies sold again.
Keep in mind the SE Devs did surveys asking their community what they would like them to do as next game and the majority voted for SE2.
I'm also annoyed when cosmetic blocks that should have functionality are never "wired up" to the game engine. For example, the Captain's Desk has a toolbar, but you can't populate it with ship functions. So it ends up being 100% cosmetic and useless besides eye candy. I fear SE2 will lean even further into this direction, where it's just about making pretty but nonfunctional systems. Keen can't even release a functioning conveyor system - it's purely cosmetic right now. If I wanted to make purely cosmetic ships, I'd use Blender and build ships for X4 Foundations. So yeah, I sure hope SE2 isn't "SE1 for Dummies, with Bugs".
I have images of a ship in my "To Do folder" since 2014 and was not able to reproduce it in SE1 but I was able to do it in SE2 because all blocks fit together (small on large).
Here is my new ship I was able to do it in SE2 using the Decor blocks so 25cm :

Very cool new feature I am sure SE Lovers will like.
Look at the floor blocks in that screenshot, we can place the blocks where we want to :

I could had deal with the game's current lay out, I get it, I could had made the best of it, saw things I wanted to try out or test in the build of things. Notice for some items look like items found in the SE DLC's. So by visual, it all looked good to me, but I will not bother with a game I can not rebind key functions to suit my needs(what effects me, effects others, so it is not about me). I can not not just go re-train myself for default key functions I never used in my life, and I go back to WIN95 out of 1995(yeah I go back that far). Far as I am concerned, If it wasn't important enough to make sure it was done like they did for the SE game(even the first version), then I found the game not important enough to keep. Hope they achieve their "what ever" game direction they doing...
SE works out for me, I can rebind, already invested in this game in DLC's since I got it in Feb of last year, I good with that.
Again, it's not a released game yet, it's not even a game at this stage, a lot of functionality is absent for now, it will come later as they release more vertical slices of the Alpha Preview. Key Binds is something they are already working on, I don't know when it's coming out, I just know it's something they are working on. Hopefully around Vertical Slice 1.2 or 1.3
This is a marathon, not a sprint, so you'll have to be patient, if that's not good for you, refund and wish list it, wait till about 2027.
Okay If you're going to be rude to me I'm going to be rude right back.
First of all I'm 47 years old. I'm not a child, don't talk down to me like one.
Secondly I don't know what the heck Windows 95 has to do with SE2's Alpha. I've used Windows since the days of Window 3.11 so how's that fit ya?
I was explaining to you why you can't rebind you keys in what is clearly labeled a Alpha Preview (it has the little orange tag in the upper left corner saying "ALPHA"). It is NOT a released game yet. Changes will be coming. The UI they have now is temporary.
My advice was if you don't want to wait for those changes you can refund the game, put it on your wish list and then wait.
I am merely stating facts and you are coming at me rude as hell.
Do you not understand what an Early Access Alpha is?
