Hi, tho I can tell you the DLC blocks I use the most I strongly recommend to look at the blocks listed in DLC description on Store page and choose the one having the blocks you would like to add on your creations.

DLC blocks I have used the most are :
- Automatons DLC for the Top Mounted Camera I need on Drilling Platform or Drill arm that fold/unfold for Rover, Trailer and/or Ship.

- Decorative Pack(1) for the Industrial Cockpit that I use on my station moving arm having small block Welder ship attached to, also use as elevator on my large block rover that I like a lot.

+
The other DLCs I use a lot but not really needed :
-> Deco Pack 2. 3
-> Warfare 2
-> Heavy Industry
-> Sparks of the Future

I second the deco pack 1 for the industrial cockpit. It is currently my favorite kind of cockpit, and the automatons one for the top mounted camera.

In general though, All of the DLC is purely cosmetic. There's nothing it adds that doesn't exist in another form in the base game; For example, there are other cockpit types in vanilla, and there is another camera type too. So pick the ones with the cool new building pieces you like. :winter2019happyyul:

Looks like you are new on the SE Forums and don't know me so I should have specifiy :

-> I am not a SE Dev but forum Moderator community helper/game tester and I help the SE community since 2013 because it's my Favorite Sandbox game on Steam, and they gave me the [Dev] Tag so I can be admin of the Workshop to help more.

How do you plan to play the game?

The survival mechanics don't mandate any of the DLC, which are there to make the spaces more livable, more like a "home".

If you just want to engage with the combat, then you might like the gatling gun skin from Warfare 2, which was once highly recommended as a DLC. It might be a popular weapon on Workshop creations.

If you plan on building a super spy base or super villain lair, you may wish for some aesthetic flair. Lockers, plants, etc. More leaning towards the Decorative DLC packs.

Frostbite has the best scenario campaign, and has a frozen skin for snow bases. Wasteland has a rust skin for desert or mars bases, and some minor vehicle aesthetic mods.

If you plan on spending time on a ship in space, Contact and Signal seem ideal.

Heavy Industry, Decorative 2, and Automatons seem to pair well for factory and construction type gameplay. I'd probably recommend the Economy Deluxe as well, the Miner skin may be worth it, and the ATM block would be a welcome addition to those tempted by the Economy system in the game (selling ores and components for credits).
