Physics bug
Hello I think I've found a physics bug in the new update. I've been building a decently big space ship and every once in awhile the ship randomly goes flying all over the place. This has not happened before the update and it's happening pretty consistantly.

It seems to happen randomly but it seems there are ways to make this happen too.
Deleting a block that's connected to the ship but will unlink other blocks.
I found removing a big thruster from the ship which in turn makes other big thrusters to become disconnected makes the ship go berserk.
Placing a wheel on my ship made it do this too.

I've tried working with the ships power on/off. My ship has a turret and 2 gates. Does not have the fake mass blocks. There should not be anything loose on the ship. (Other than rotors of course) The turret and the gate are pretty small. Gates being about 5X1X6 (XYZ) turret about 3X5X4

To try and describe what happens a little better. The ship starts spinning and moving in random directions.
If this is related to the new update hopefully it can get fixed pretty quickly :D
Also it only seems to happen immediately after i've destroyed or placed a block. It seems like the ship kind of glitches out and breaks from that place and goes flying. The thrusters in the back of the ship seems to disappear though if that's related to the ship moving to fast or what I don't know.

When using symmetry if I place a block in the middle it doesn't place 2 inside each other right? It only places 1 block.

Anyone else got this problem? Or ideas to prevent it?
Maybe clamping my ship to a station or to the ground? (with landing gears)
Or have the ship powered on with inertia dampeners on and all thrusters for each direction?
Anyway to downgrade to the previous version? I just want to place/remove blocks.
I can upgrade either after the bug is fixed or I'm done building.

System Specs:
PowerColor HD7970
i5-4570
8 GB Corsair Vengence low profile white RAM
Seagate 1TB HDD

I have something similar, but with the character only - I haven't built any ships since the latest update, but since then, I have been flattening floors and cutting very nice straight tunnels with the hand-drill, to prepare a next part of the base, and squeeze in a few passages.

Now I get thrown about suddenly and with great force, wrecking a section of a tunnel/floor and I usually die. I can't tell if I hit something, like bumped something with my body, or if a rock bangs me dead, or if a rock punches me into a wall or object, but I've never noticed a rock that goes flying into me, or off of me, and I wonder if it's a glitch/bug. Sends me flying.

The game is very laggy now too, and I have not added anything to the base since, and dropped the objects count (which helped somewhat). When the flinging starts, lag kicks in and the damage to the surfaces I am cutting neatly can go on and on before the frame-rate catches up to show me I am dead or that I've wrecked the surface.

Rocks normally push me around a bit, like drilling into a ceiling and being hammered downward by the rocks being cut out, but being thrown about suddenly, and only since the update, seems very odd, and causing lots of reloading, haha ^^

I am pretty good at adapting a plan if I make a mistake, but I am starting to reload "heaps" now.

Dev's will probably fix it asap :D

Hi , yep I have the same problem . I am bulding a large ship , if I have my jetpack on I can place blocks no problem , but if I turn the jetpack off and stand on something all hell breaks loose. When this hapens I sudenly smash into the ship with great force that it kills me and in better case damages the ship , somewhere else then where I´ve hit it :D . Worse case just sends it with great force in to the space ,spinig piruets all over the place :D

Having the same issue. I have a sneaky suspision it has to do with docked smaller ships. The reaction I had was consistently violent, throwing the ship off at very high speeds and spinning all over the place and it's quite a large ship. As afore mentioned it was either immediately after I removed a block or with a few second delay after placing a block. Didn't seem to happen after I undocked smaller ships, but that could be coincidental, but most times before the 'freak out' I would hear the landing gear 'locking' sound.

Yeah, I am also experiancing this problem. Currently building a big ship and after the recent update I can't edit it without it spinning around sending me flying and clipping through rooms. I have tried chucking down 100's of gyro's and cutting back thrusters but to no avail. I will have to put building on hold for a while and hope they sort it out.

Hey guys , same problem here : if a large ship has turrets and has this bug the games framrate geos down and when you fly in the turret with jetpack it will fly all over the place and my framerate goes down to like 1 or a half...
I hope this gets fixed today

Looking around the bug discussion pages, it seems lots of people are experiencing this issue and the dev team says it's working on a fix as we speak! Yew!

I knew they just simply rock, still another great update, even with the hiccup

<3 devs tyty

i too suspect it has something to do with the character interaction with blocks I just a a heavy armored vessel smashed itself to bits against the dock (which it also destroyed) as I was flung about inside. almost as though I had insane mass. weird
Having the same problem, I've spent a good 15 hours on my ship and don't want to lose it, solutions?

Didn't they fix this awhile ago? Or maybe the bug creeped up again?
It was a mass problem and I definitely wasn't the only one with it. I haven't been able to play space engineers in awhile. I read that when they added the new procedural planets some pretty funky things happened. Sounded pretty funny actually.

My solution is to backup your world. Or copy the ship so it's saved as a ship that you can import if it breaks.

It's now 2020 and I am having this issue. The Devs never fixed it?

Edit: Anyone experiencing this issue, I deleted a rotor and gravity generator which were connected to each other and placed a new gravity generator without the rotor. The issue is now gone. Not sure why people decide to connect grav gens to rotors, but that fixed my issue. Hopefully this solution will help others experiencing this problem.
