Symmetry Mode Not Working in Survival Mode

Hi All,

Pretty new to the game, so please excuse me if this has already been answered, but I don't seem to be able to access symmetry mode in my relatively young lone survivor game.

Is this by design?

I started an easy start game in creative mode to test it out, and it works in that game.

Also, when laying a new station starting block the axis rotation keys don't work. I have to use large or small ship starting blocks to set the orientation and then swap over to the station block.

Anyone else having this problem?

Its not supposde to work

Since survival requires you to place blocks directly from parts in your inventory its not possible to use symmetry mode as the placement of blocks would be unrealistically far from you.

they really should implement blueprints

I think the holographic 3d guide would be cool because then I coul build a space dock like you see with start trek and set it up to look like a shipyard.

I take it then the control function to lay multiple blocks also does not work in Survival Mode, for the reasons stated above?

Anyone else noticed the problem with being unable to manipulate the orientation of the station starting block?
