where to ger cabolt ore?

so i started just with an abandined platform, survival mode.
im trying to build a small ♥♥♥♥ so that i can mine distant astroids,
the one astroind that is next to my platform, appears to be lacking cabolt ore,
and i cant build a ship wihtout it...
maybe im missing something?
or is it even possible to play on survival mode with the game in its current state?
