Why does Silver take so long to refine?

First i needed to deal with communication components that are too big to hold more than 2 at a time, now im bottlenecked on silver.

i get that silver seems only usable for reactors and medical units but cmon.

also i applaude what it takes to make a missile, that .5 uranium will deffinatly slow people down.

course you may want to look into ship cannons( in addition to gatling) or (i really really want) a large laser.

That, plus it takes 2000 reactor components to make a large ship reactor, so refining the silver takes sooo long.

Gaaaa. im just making a small reactor for a station beacon, even if i drop everything just to build a second refinery i still need the second reactor to power it.

should look into the second refinery it helps alot (even though it took forever to aquire the resources for it). i was working on my first mining ship but it was taking too long to refine the minerals but once i got the second refinery it got better. will be looking into a third here soon so i can have a steady stream of resourses for my first large ship.

I came looking to see if the refinement time on silver was bugged (extra 0 on there so it's 10x longer than it should be?) or supposed to be terribly long. Processing the 20k silver bullion for a large reactor is going to take about 17.5 hours total of letting the game run while I do other things around the house. I've already filled all the containers I have built with ore, but the refinery is busy with silver, so all I can do now is wait for the reactor to get done. New reactor = more power for additional refineries, so it'll get quicker in the future with more refineries running at one time, but it shouldn't take so long at first.

Definitely seems to be a hitch in silver refining. This is never more apparent than when one is building a Large Reactor for a big ship or station, as they need 2000! Reactor Components. If you don't have the necessary silver lined up before you even start, this construction item can slow to an absolute crawl.

Case in point: I'm in here reading and responding to posts while waiting for two Refineries and two Assemblers grind through the needed Reactor Components. I'm so bored of this! :P

Update: It is now 25 minutes later, and my two Assemblers have only managed to grind out about 300 Reactor Components (another 1500 to go!). I am bored out of my mind and out of the game to play something else. Bleah!

I agree, try waiting on platinum. I DID build a 2nd refinery and literally let them run all night while I was sleeping so I would have a closer amount to what I needed this morning.
