How to paint already placed items?

How do I paint blocks that are already placed?

Just choose your colour, aim at the block you want to colour and press your middle mouse button. Don't scroll, click it, and you should be fine.

You can only paint 'armor' blocks.

Edit: NOW you can paint almost any block.

you have to have a block selected for example a light arumor block pick the color and hold the MMB or middle mouse button and just drag it to paint hope this helps

What everyone keeps leaving out is that you need to have SOME block out in your hand. I prefer one of the armor corner blocks because they obstruct very little of my view.

A year ago you could only paint armor blocks, so the answer was correct.
No reason for such necro.
