Advice for making a perfect sphere?
wondering if anyone has any advice for this... basically a ship design i wish to make requires a close as possible the best sphere shape, and then i can carve out the openings it needs.

Check around the workshop and look for ships that might have a circle like bridge or something, good luck mate!

In Minecraft I used to do a little trick with MS Paint. Use the circle draw tool to make a circle, then zoom in so you can see all the pixels and count them, then copy the configuration of how they are laid out. I think there was a site that you could use that showed you a grid pattern and drew a circle on the radius you specify, giving you a blueprint but I cannot find the bookmark I thought I had.

Edit: Here is is, further down that page. http://www.minecraft-craftingguide.com/calculator.html

Fill in the box for the radius, click centred or not, get instant blueprint.

UncleSte has a mod with a larger collection of slope/angle armor blocks that would probably be useful for this project.

I use http://oranj.io/blog/VoxelSphereGenerator. Pretty easy to follow.

Place an antenae. Place Spherical Grav Gen and mark it for 'show on HUD' and in info section set to show gravity fields. You can even set grav gen to 0 gravity, just make sure it has power/is ON.
That the best ingame sphere build helper we now have.

P.S. Also works for rounds.
