Always use "Save as" button / Change the save name to create a copy before loading your save.

Always Blueprint your creations after adding a few blocks or doing any changes, this way you will be able to paste back in the previous Blueprint when something goes wrong.
Hi, I appreciate the speedy reply. I've had two seperate small grid ships (No modded blocks used in either, hydrogen thrusters on one and atmospheric on the other) obliterate/disappear themselves while locked with landing gear in the past 3 days. One was locked onto the roof of my large grid rover on the Earth planet and exploded/disappeared at some point during my journey, I'm guessing it was when I hit a tree but due it being night I never found it again.
The second time I had landed my small grid ship on a large grid AI ship that was part of a mod, I doubt this would effect the landing gear though. The large grid AI ship either due to a bug or a thruster override setting by the creator was permanently spinning after I took out the remote control block, but I had already landed and locked my gear on the roof before the spin began. After about 20 minutes of trying to stop the spinning my small grid ship exploded on the roof and sent wreckage falling everywhere around me with no input from myself.
I've played the game for many years so I'm aware of the issues with hinges and connectors mainly, with connectors sometimes causing a docked ship to wobble and destroy itself if you don't disable thrusters, which is why I use landing gears for ships that are attached when I'm on the move. But I've never once had an issue with a ship secured via landing gear hence my surprise and annoyance with it happening twice in relatively quick succession.
This was in survival on the Earth planet.
They also like it a lot when we can share a save (on the Workshop) with character in front of the bug ready for them to reproduce and see that bug.
Better let them know this ^ way as fast as possible so they can start working on a fix.

That said, I know they had a hard time about the landing gears locked on another ship, they end up making it "merge" to be more stable and that can be the cause when you lock your ship on another ship !?
Correct me if I am wrong, the exact steps to reproduce this bug :
1 - Landing gear lock a smalll ship on a second small block ship.
2 - Landing gear lock a smalll block ship on a enemy Faction ship.
I would like to try to reproduce this bug to help the SE programmers so if you could share some Steam screenshots of the ships used and locked will help me a lot.
I unfortunately cannot get the save as it's on a server I don't myself own, I have uploaded two screenshots that should be visible publicly on my profile that show my small grid ship and the large AI modded ship that it was parked on, and a close up of what was left of the large grid ship after it landed. Sadly I don't have any other pictures of both ships before the accident, but the screenshot showing both ships is the state they were in when my small grid ship exploded.
The exact steps to reproduce the bug would the 2nd option you listed, although the enemy faction ship had it's remote control, beacon and main cockpit grinded below the hack level if it's of relevance. It was spinning rapidly when the explosion happened, not sure if intended or an issue with the gravity generator or thruster overiding.
If I can be of any more help let me know.
Adding the server log of that event, like it says in the "Bug Report Guide", should be OK so no need to send them that server world.
But you are the best to recreate that bug cause it happens to you, just redo in a Local world and send them that save using the Workshop.
-> You can Blueprint your ship and the enemy ship to paste in Local to Reproduce.
I will try on my side and send them a save for testing if I can reproduce it.
In that screenshot I see a enemy large block ship with your small block ship locked on top ?

And here I see
= what was left of the large grid ship after it landed with small blocks ship stil locked on it and the large block ship locked onto ice/Voxel terrain ?

First screenshot description is correct, 2nd one is what's left of the large grid ship after it landed, it's not locked onto the ice it's just freely sat there. I don't think there's any small grid blocks attached to it that I could make out, the last I saw of my small grid ship was half of it flying into the abyss from 3km up in the air after the explosion. I haven't been able to find any wreckage of it so far and it was neon orange so I'm unsure if the wreckage despawned, is buried in a crevice somewhere or if the rest of the ship was just evaporated in the initial explosion.
I was not able to Reproduce so far using one of my enemy ship that uses the Argentavis "Brain" from the Learning to survive scenario (pasted in my warship) :

But will I keep trying till I can repro and the best would be you to paste all in a local world and try to repro = I will not be alone trying ;)
Edit
-> not be alone trying to create a world ready for them to try and see the bug.
I tested in space so next test will be on planet ...
