how do i generate oxygen on an astriod without ice?(fixed)
im all out of ice and i havnt been able to find any on the astroid im at,im playing "red ship crash" and im down to using my last couple of oxygen bottles.
alright then what i did was i thought,oh well, ..put a small miningship together circled my station about 9km out, found an ice roid,i tried the farms,i find them too expensive to build compared to a generator when you have a source of ice.

Oxygen farms, build 3 of em and bam, survival! short of that all i can say is fly to the next asteroid.

Oxygen Farm sir :)

Place it in sunlight so the black stuff is face-to-the-sun. It can generate o2 from the sunlight.

Then, connect it with conveyors to an oxygen tank. You can refill the bottles from that.

HOWEVER... its really slow at filling an oxygen tank, and you will want to build 2 or 3 to keep your astronaut alive.

best bet is to make a group of o2 farms

damn Do.... Do.... Do... Double ninjad... ninjad..... ninjad.... xD

Just adding to this^

If you pipe your O2 farms to a med bay you can slowly refill your astronaut without bottles, just in case you die and loose your O2 bottles.

I like to have oxygen piped in to my ships, using ice. so if I'm in my cockpit, I have energy and oxygen. If you have a decent mining ship you can mine ice pretty quickly. even without a mining ship you can mine ice at a reasonable rate.
i put 8k ice(found it on a nearby astroid) into my oxygen generator, with a conected storage tank, and then conected to a medbay...gone in an instant...8k ice..oh yea and i found out the hard way that antenna signals are only visable within 10km.......this learning the hard way sucks!!!

Check your Tank, it will probably even only be half-filled with that 8k. They simply can store a lot.
You should also be able to increase your antenna signal on large ships or stations to 50km.

Dude! I have been wondering why the med bay has a conveyor hook-up. Never thought to pipe O2 to it..... Thanks!

Medbay used to have a non-functional conveyor port for ages

yup youre right, thanks, how do i set my antenna signal to 50km on my station?

Go into the Stations Control Pannel and find the antenna, in it's options there will be a slider, just slide it all the way to the right.

Beacons have a longer range than antenna's (Infinite at max I think) so if you go very far out it might be worth building one of those, they're a little redunant with antenna's (which do more) unless you go very far out but they don't take much power.

Ah no, never mind, I checked and their range is the same.

Don't bother with them then!

alright, cool :) thanks

I always rush out 3 oxygen farms for this purpose, so if I don't find ice I'm not screwed.
