the group is usually at the top of the modules list on the left of the Control-panel (K). If ALL MODULES IN THAT GROUP ARE THE SAME, then the funktion settings of that group are 'copied over' to each module, in that group, IF YOU CHANGE THEM. If you've had them set individually, they retain their individually set function-parameters/settings in that groups (that's on purpose, that way lights don't change colors, if all you want just to turn them on and off)
Thank you both for a quick response :)
Hopefully using this system we can use hotkey eventually.
For groups that have multiple types of blocks, like gravity drives, which use Artificial Mass and Grav Gens, using Shift+click can possibly select items that you don't want selected, in which case, you have a further two options: Shift +click the whole group, and Ctrl+click to deselect the stuff that you don't want, or you can Shift+click one part of your group, scroll past the unwanted stuff, and Ctrl+click the top of the second part of your grouping. After that you can scroll to the bottom of the second set, and Shift+click to select the rest of that set.
This method can be used multiple times: One idea I have for my WIP grav-drive freighter is to have the grav gens, and artificial mass in their own sets, and then I'd add interior lights to indicate that it's on. That way, the interior lights serve as a warning that the grav drive is active.
That would require three sets in one grouping.
